SH775 wire harness guidance

Hello, GSResources readers.

Basically I have purchased a 1979 Suzuki GS850 that I'm very much looking forward to riding and have done a fair bit of research on what needs to be done to make it road worthy.

The question that I bring to this subforum is regarding the wire harness for a SH775 R/R.

So I am aware of the current standby of getting the Triumph T2500676 wire harness. And I may go down that route since it doesn't seem like cutting the default connection points off and crimping fresh bullet connectors is too hard. And the part itself is widely available and cheap.

However, I am intrigued with the Metripack waterproof connectors. This harness from RMStator seems to be a good length and has something that looks like a Metripack connector installed, but I'm not sure which one it is. The RMStator eBay store told me it is a 3 pin connector. I've asked them if they could ID the connector on their harness but haven't heard back yet. I've seen some people just purchase the FH020AA, FH0101AA, SH847 Connectors with Leads and then install the ring terminals and connector of choice onto the harness but I am interested with the harnesses that have some of the work done.

I see that Eastern Beaver offers their FH020AA/FH012AA/011/010/009/SH847 Complete Kits that has the R/R kit done up with a Metripack connector and with the corresponding female connector to crimp onto the stator wire. I might go down this route. However, the question I have is regarding the red battery harness. I see it has the ring terminal already installed but it also has a full size blade fuse holder. What it's the purpose of this piece and how would it integrate into the existing electrical system?

I've ordered a couple connectors from Eastern Beaver. Good company in general, but when I ordered the connectors for a R/R I was also in the market for 2 pin, 4 pin, 9 pin, and other size connectors. So it was a "one stop connector shop".

I almost bought that wiring harness. Decided to go with another one for a Polaris from RM Stator. This one came with a connector to add to the wires from the stator. Didn't want to try to find the other end of the connector shown in the eBay listing you linked. They sell on both eBay and Amazon. I think I ordered mine from Amazon.

i used those triumph leads, i just chopped those block connector things off, chopped the wire ends off of the old r/r, and soldered the two together. then i could just plug it in like the old one was. the wires are plenty long. too long really. i have a phobia of chopping wires too short ...
