With this, I am hearing "...but I haven't ridden it yet".I bought my850 in may in boxes and in pieces. Ive worked all summer on it.
Have you done anything else to the carbs, like strip them down and soak them overnight, then replace all the o-rings and put them back together? If not, it's no wonder you think it's so "cold-blooded". When the carbs are clean and the valves are adjusted, you almost don't hear the starter turning, because the engine starts so quickly, it drowns out the starter. 20-30 seconds on half-"choke" and it's ready to ride off. By the time you are in third gear, you can turn off the "choke".Adjusted float heights doing the fork seals. ... Bikes runs great, cold blooded son of a bitch tho.
If that's not the way your bike runs, you need to do more than just "adjust the floats".
Most people have something in mind when they buy a bike. Evidently you had a cafe in mind, which is fine. However, if the look of a shaft bothers you so much, why did you buy it? :-kYes suzuki got the shaftie right tje first time. But i hate the profile from the left. Just want a chain.
