A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Shaft to chain swap

I bought my850 in may in boxes and in pieces. Ive worked all summer on it.
With this, I am hearing "...but I haven't ridden it yet".

Adjusted float heights doing the fork seals. ... Bikes runs great, cold blooded son of a bitch tho.
Have you done anything else to the carbs, like strip them down and soak them overnight, then replace all the o-rings and put them back together? If not, it's no wonder you think it's so "cold-blooded". When the carbs are clean and the valves are adjusted, you almost don't hear the starter turning, because the engine starts so quickly, it drowns out the starter. 20-30 seconds on half-"choke" and it's ready to ride off. By the time you are in third gear, you can turn off the "choke".

If that's not the way your bike runs, you need to do more than just "adjust the floats".

Yes suzuki got the shaftie right tje first time. But i hate the profile from the left. Just want a chain.
Most people have something in mind when they buy a bike. Evidently you had a cafe in mind, which is fine. However, if the look of a shaft bothers you so much, why did you buy it? :-k

Experience in title issues or parting out?

Actually, neither one..

Apologies. I was thinking sorting out title issues; something I recalled from an earlier thread, but I have obviously misinterpreted something you wrote, or I am thinking of the wrong member.

It was stuttering on corners and checked float height and it was off. Ive unganged thrm cleaned them all new orings. Ive had every part removed. Ive put over 2k on the bike this summer so yes ive ridden it quite a bit. And as far as purchasinf it, it was 400 with a clean title. And i knew i could make it run. But im never satisfied with stock. I love my 850 runs great very reliable powerful. Ill post pics. Ive taken "along the way" pics and documented my project build. Its my first project. Im 24
