    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Ok, i got the pieces in the mail. to do the front brake. I thought id be able to find online how to put them together, but haven't found anything yet and i dont know how. Also, they didn't come with the washer like they were supposed to.
Can I get regular 10mm washers, or are "crush washers" something special? Can anyone tell me how I go about puting this brake line together?

Remove the plastic cap on the bottom of the banjo fitting and thread the male end into the matching female fitting on the hose. Snug down fitting using two wrenches and done. Do the same thing for the hose end on the other side but don't tighten it down until its in place on the bike.

Crush washers are soft and compress under the sharp edges of the banjo fitting thus providing a seal. You need crush washers, regular washers won't seal since they won't crush.
 
Thanks, is it ok to re-use the banjo bolts (with new washers) from the old brake line?
Also, I assume you have to line up the holes in the banjo bolt to the connector?

No, that is, if you're talking about the horizontal holes just under the hex,
the fluid moves through the circular chamber created by the internal shape on the banjo itself.:)
And yes to the first question, sorry, as long as they're not damaged, such as stripped threads, etc.
AND, oh yeah, if your new banjos are the same thickness as your old ones. 10mm crush washers for brake lines are generally available from most any local dealer. Usually chrome-plated copper. One-time use only.

Thanks! One last thing, is there trick to filling the new lines up with fluid? Or do I just have to bleed regularly?
