A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

thanks pete. I took a 60 mile ride with my cousin yesterday. I forgot all about the leaking timing chain tensioner. I guess this week sometime between work and school I am going to start on that. once my neighbor gives me the cash for the damages to my tank it will we going into paint. The wife and I are house shopping now, so that has priority. I hope to have a garage by next winter, then the real fun can begin.

Yes, garages are very handy! I need to get my shed built to reclaim some of my garage space and to have a room to do blasting and spraying in...

well today marked a major setback. I was riding to school and when I stopped at the stop sign near my house the bike made a small bang and shut off. I went home grabbed my truck and picked up the bike. When I got home I tried to crank the engine by hand and it was stuck. I decided to pull the valve cover. What I found was a broken timing chain. It seems like part of a link broke and now the chain locked up the engine. I am so frustrated I don't know where to go from here. I am afraid of what I might find if I dig into this engine.

Bugger! Hopefully it just jammed on a guide or something that's not too bad, but you will at least need to get the head and cylinders off to inspect the sprocket on the crankshaft...

I reclaimed some of my garage by the statement "Use it or Lose it". A lot of stuff has made its way to the salvation army and more to come. :D

If it's too bad you might be able to find a donor engine? I am constantly keeping an eye out for a spare up here, because you never know.

Yep, that's the way to do it!

Unfortunately I'm in a 2 car garage with 2 cars and a bike and a workshop area crammed in front of one car so all the usual stuff just takes up any spare room...

sold my 450. I have 1983 GS750es in California I need to go pick up at my dad's, which I should be getting in December. It's all stock except for a turbo kit.
