A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So how bad did I mess it up?

When I was removing my carbs, I somehow did a little damage to the #2 carb. The #2 airbox boot clamp apparently got wedged in between the carb and the boot when I was struggling to get the carb rack off and gouged the top of the airbox side of the intake a bit. Rookie misstake, what can I say? Of course, you can't see what's going on with #2 and #3 when you are trying to get the #$%^ things off; so I didn't know until after the fact. I filed it down smooth the best I could. My question is: will this have any affect on how the bike will run?

Don't sweat it. It'll be fine. That is the port that draws the air that raises your slides hence needles.
You don't even want to know what I did to my first carb rebuilt. Had to replace a carb body cause I butchered the idle mixture screw and ended up cracking the body. :?

 Thanks Chef, you make me feel better! :-D I'm going ahead as planned. I got to hold off until I can pick up the digital caliper at Harbor Freight Friday afternoon for the float measurement before I can put #1 back together and move on to #2. I am having fun though. \\:D/ Here's another shot of it.

Arnt those usually only $15??
If you click on this link, you will see that there is a price of $36.99 that is crossed out, then a big red $15.99 near it.
Don't know if that is a 'compare to' price or if it's on sale, but as of today, that is the price.
Might be 'normal', might be 'sale', but that is the price. 8-[

Just to clarify if anybody is thinking about shopping at Harbor Freight. I called just to see if it was in stock as I plan to stop today. He asked if I got that price off the internet and I said yes. He said the store price was $36.99 but if I brought in my printout off the internet, they would sell it to me at that price. So if you're going, print out whatever you want to get if you want the lower price.

It looks like your fuel line is original due to the colour. It would be a good time to put a new one on, Ted

Also......if they have a sale price on the internet that isn't in the store or on the flyer, they will honor that price as long as you print it out and take it in.\\:D/
