A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

again great pics. Might I suggest a profile of the bike and the truck. Thegreen against the red should make for a great shot.

Just wondering how far off the ground the bottom of the frame sits? I'm starting to plan a gs450 chop now and it looks like in order to level the bottom of the frame it will have to sit just under 7 inches off the ground. Is this the case in your build?

The bike looks awesome!

What modifications did you do to the carb for the pods and open exhaust? Did you just increase the main jet to 130 or did you do anything else?

Thanks for the reply, that is where I will start then (130 main jet). I am new to these bikes do you know of a good source to purchase the correct jet from?

Thanks,
Ryan

Just chimming in. Dayum good thread/read. Next time I'm in Queens I'll have to PM ya. Love to see this machine up close. peace

got a 550 front rim, couple things to note, you need to use the 450 disc and spacer for it to work. the 450 mag was 25.75lbs of unsprung rotating mass, the 550 with the 450 disc is 22.88lbs. 2.87lbs lost up front

changed the bars and added 4 inch baffles, also cut of the cross pipe between the pipes. changed the headlight too

changed out the carbs to a fresher set, also changed the O-rings and intake boot bolts from http://www.cycleorings.com/, money well spent (shameless plug).

been looking to do something to this bike over the winter, here are the plans
-448cc to 498cc (maybe depending on my other projects time allotment)
-valve adjustment
-oil change
-fork seals
-brake pads
-SS brake lines

did some stuff today, been meaning to get rid of my old taillight since it was cracked. made a new head light bracket because the old one was an eyesore and the light stuck out to far. added a sissy bar to haul some stuff.
