So while doing my rebuild (http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?t=155883) I took apart my Speed Sending Unit Gearbox.
Everything needs a good cleaning, but seems to be working fine, however I found a single small ball-bearing in between the rubber seal and the Eared Drive-Plate that engages the hub and the gears.
So my question is... are there supposed to be bearings between the seal and the Drive-Plate or was that just something random that found its way into the gearbox?
Since it seems these weren't meant to be serviceable, I haven't been able to find a micro-fiche or parts listing to check.
Thanks!
