    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

What sizes am I looking for to replace both front and back for my 1100 EZ

and

where's the best place/fastest place to buy them??

I've ordered brake lines from Paragon several times, good price and good quality. They'll also make their standard sized lines to spec, if you want one of the banjos rotated 45 degrees or something like that. No extra charge for that in my experience.

I got my SS lines from Z1. I just took my lines off and measured the length. You'll need to get the correct angles for the banjo bolt connectors.

+1 on Paragon, they have a lot of our bikes. If they don't have them, I think they ask you to send in your old lines, and then they duplicate them. That way they have a new pattern.

What is the advantage to AN for someone who IS willing to make their own? From a quick look it seems like a 3ft hose with 10mm banjo fittings would cost about $28 from Paragon and $48 from AN and then you could assemble it yourself... am I missing something here?

Paragon PP-23336. 36in 10mm banjo to 10mm banjo $28.40
AN Plumbing. 3 feet of hose, two hose ends and two banjos @$48.

AN Plumbing is a great way to go. The hose is $3/foot and most of the hose ends are about $10 each. How are you getting to $48? Also, that Paragon hose you reference has two straight banjos on the ends which is not ideal. When you make the hose yourself you can pick whatever angle hose ends you want.

$21 for two hose ends
$15 for two straight 10mm banjo fittings

$45 from what I see. I think I chose one angled fitting the first time around.

Maybe I'm choosing the wrong components? I chose straight banjo fittings for a more direct comparison. I picked the -3 speedflex line, the speed seal AL hose ends and the straight banjo fittings. You do need hose ends for the banjo or other fittings to attach to, right? I've never built up any of these lines but thats how it looks.

I didn't order direct from them (I I can't recall the reseller I used), but HEL does make kits for these old bikes that bolt straight on. I spent less than $100 for front and rear.

Earl’s makes bolt on hose ends that have the banjo built in for about $10 each. They also sell premade hose that already has hose ends on them, but you need to add an adapter to add the banjo – I think you are referring to these since the end result is more cost.

No, what I was looking at was bare hose + hose ends + banjo fittings on the site Chef listed. If I dug into the site further I'd probably see what you mean but the computer I've been on the last couple of days is painfully slow. I don't want to wait a minute for each tab to load..

Still sounds like it would be about a wash though, $9 in Earls hose + $20 in banjo hose ends + assembly or $29 for a pre-made hose. They'll use different end fittings for the difference in cost too so it would probably be about $32 for one straight and one angle.

... this horse dead yet? :D However you get them or make them SS lines are the way to go.
