I think you are making up stuff here. What reason would these guys have to not put jets in correctly, INTENTIONALLY break bolts, etc? There is not a single person on this forum that wants to see another hurt on a bike. Heck, why did you even take the carbs back off in the first place? Why did you ride it when they were there if you didn't like their workmanship? Why is it you weren't outside helping along with everyone else throughout the ENTIRE day? If it was my bike, I'd be fighting to be doing some of it just so I can learn.

Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth.

I've been a member since '06 (old username was deleted when I sold my GS before buying it back recently), and dont remember any drama like this on here. Your a machinist and mechanic supposidly so I'm sure you have a set of left handed drill bits. Use those to drill them out, heli-coil if necessary, torque to about 5 foot pounds and be done with it. If people were nice enough to burn their gas to come to my house to install a exhaust, rebuild my carbs ect for beer I would not be mad at all if there was a broken bolt. If the threads were all ripped out then the bolts should come out less than finger tight.

Man at last a thread where I am not the deluded one.
This has been a long time coming.

Does NOS have any pics od a dis-assenbled rack of carbs with their threads spilled out like guts in a slaughterhouse? I am willing to guess no.

Nope just a silly fruitless bit of nonsense with no purpose and no useful end.

Oh an I too have a medical cert for marijauna. So yeahhhhhh lets excuse that as well.

The reason i wasnt there helping was that Ray had me constantly running to the parts store to buy more stuff. You guys think that mixing up the facts and trying to contort the truth will save graces but its just rediculous. What reason do i have to make this stuff up? Im Fing ****ed off at what they did to my bike. You think stripping out all my thread holes and breaking off a bolt in my carb body is a gift? You are seriously screwed up. I never sat down once the whole day and i never even went into the house, people are just making up BS to cover their asses.

Someone mention that someone was smoking pot in the house and yes my roomate was, he has a medical card for it and it is legal and there is nothing i can do about it. But trying to say i was in the house doing that is a flat out LIE.

You say you are mad because of what they did to your bike. That bolt being broke would never in any way disturb the way it ran. And I bet that if you wouldn't have even seen it you would be on here like WOW these guys are awesome.

You need to take a step back and look at the big picture here. They came to your house to help you out. How far would you be right now on your bike?? if it wasn't for them lending their free time to come out and help you.I know in my heart that if you hadn't even offered up the free grub they would have been there. Thats just the way these people are. You need to just take and get the bolt out and then take a few days to reflect on how much you blew this all out of wack.

Uhm...yeah...because we all know those guys are LAZY and don't ever go out of their way to HELP STRANGERS out of the KINDNESS of their hearts

And of course, most of their posts are all about being SELFISH and MOCKING others, right?

Yeah, we are all going to just change our opinions of their well earned reputations because YOU say so.

But you're right. I think *somebody* probably IS making stuff up to cover his a$$.

And thanks, I learned something tonight. Motorcycles will run without the jets installed in the correct locations and way.

You need to get a NEW bike, not an OLD GS that requires hands on. And you need to take it to a shop where you can pay shop rates to someone who is paid to listen to your...claims.

Man, you even have JeepRusty worked up, and he *loves* to stir up a good argument :p You must be one special fellow.

He needs to buy a harley lol

Wow. I thought you were a machinest and a mechanic and a computer guy but you only have a cheap set of tools? Heck, I'm only a computer guy and backyard mechanic and I can honestly say I have about a thousand dollars in just tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, torque wrenches, ratchets/sockets, etc) to work on the bike.

This whole thing comes back to what are you doing to get it out? To me, you are just whining about it. No pictures or discussion of what you already tried. You cannot tell me you have gone the last 24 hours without making that thing budge when it is clearly above the carb body where you can grab onto it and twist out. Take the carbs apart, put that body in a woodworking vise with rubber or something to protect it, and take it out.

Be done with it already.

I can't believe you're 36 years old and acting this way.

I also can't believe you're some kind of machinist who doesn't "have any tools except for a cheep tool set i was given for my Birthday".

And they knew it too, so they decided to f*** up your bike, eat your food, and giggle to themselves all the way home about how they pulled a fast one on you.

Grow up. You make a larger and larger ass of yourself with every post you type.

You know what? Nevermind.
Look, I don't know the other guys, but I know Ray personally. And I consider him a good friend. You could have come over to my house, I have a small machine shop in the garage, & I would have been happy to machine that screw out for nothing.
But now....not a chance.
Sorry.

But really NOS no one here can condone your actions. it is not borne of disagreement or petty politics. It is a deep moral conflict that is spurring you on. You have made an assertion that is greivous and have since made a number of incongrous and contradictory revelations which show you to be wrong.

It is very sad that what you are doing causes so much harm in the real world. You are bearing flase witness. At best mis-leading witness.

Step in form the cold dude. So many jackasses here would love to pile on you and cause more hurt. Let it go. Appraise the situation and ask yourself with all honesty. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS IS TRUE? A fine old prof used to tear our essays apart and the one thing he would do after stripping the flesh off us was to ask of our thesis. "Do YOU BELIEVE THIS IS TRUE?" The answer was invariably a sheepish "no, well not really."

Would you condemn yourself or anyone to death over your certainty in this matter?

Dude for all the talk you do "degree" "machinist" blah, blah, blah then you cry over a broken bolt.......I just built a completely hybrid/custom GS/Katana/GSXR turbo charged 7/11 with the help of two forums, a high school diploma from a public school, and 17 years experience in the construction industry.
You should be ashamed to even still be posting on this forum. After hearing all your belly aching it makes me what to punch myself in the balls.

SHUT THE **** UP!!!!!!

Sorry guys one more.....

As you already said, the bike ran the best it ever had after everyone left. A broken bolt in the rear rack mount rail would have absolutely nothing to do with how it ran.
It appears to me the bike was fine and running normally when everyone left.
I think you "worked" on it again after that. Those that helped you have "earned" a good reputation and it is inconceivable they would make the effort to work on your bike for free on a holiday to boot, and in any way, do shoddy work and cause your problems. The things you say do not add up.

After your response, I am certain I wouldn't consider doing anything for you. Not even if you offered to pay me 100 hot dogs. LOL

After reading all the posts in this thread, and in the other thread about the wrenching party, your posting of this makes a lot more sense now:

NOS said:
Does anyone use these? I was thinking about getting one. They are for letting a driver know they are too close. Only for emergencies.

I dont know what world you are from but if i damaged one of my brothers bikes and didnt man up and tell them and try to make things right you know what would happen to me? I would get my skull bashed in.

Just the other day i was at a MC club house and i knocked a brothers beer over, you think i just walked away and said who cares its just a full beer. No i went and found the brother and i made things right and i purchased another beer for him. Thats what a good person does.

Now im waiting for Chef to be a good person, like i am and do the right thing.

Civilized people do not "bash skulls in" over a broken bolt.

Emotionally-crippled, sociopathic barbarians do.

Oh do stop! This Barbarian bashing needs to stop.

NOS quit getting baited. it is clear now that a certain group wants to goad you into making a response and get you banned.

So stop this. You and the guys that helped you are worth more than all this.

So you were at a MC club house?????Did you happen to mention to any of these said brothers your predicament?????? I am sure being around such a large group of well established "bikers" one of them could have easily help you with your catastrophic situation......or maybe they would have just slapped you. Moron!!
