A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Standard GSX1100 1981, what size rs flat slides ? and what filters to use. K & N ?

High peeps, what size R S flat slide carbs, and filters do you recommend for a standard GSX 1100 1981 road bike ? Many thanks.

In case you don't know, the RS carbs are noisy. Really noisy. From the slides flapping. Also they have a much stiffer return spring to ensure they close from high RPM which causes hand fatigue and a touchy throttle. Try a bike with them first if you can. I have them on my drag bike, but not sure I would like them on the street.

Are they ready to go straight out of the box ? if necessary are they difficult to tune ? do they come with spare jets ? Many thanks for your advice, i'm not looking for more power, just a bike that runs reasonably well.

Hi peeps, after searching the web i'm not sure the rs flatslides are good for normal road use, your thoughts most welcome from anyone using them on the road. I would prefer to use the original carbs, but emulsion tubes, and choke plungers are unavailable , both need replacing. So need to change carbs, any other carbs fit ? that parts are available for. Any ideas most welcome. Many thanks.

I have a set of RS34s on my tuned GS1000 and I really like them. Easy to tune and they definitely make more power than the stock carbs. Jets are readily available if you need to go richer or leaner depending on your setup.

Yes, they come with some spare jets. I did not have to change any jets, just made sure all the air screws were set the same. I also installed a push pull throttle assembly and pingle duel outlet petcock with reserve but they do supply a tee fitting if you want to use a single outlet petcock.
