If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hello, I put new battery in. Turned the key the Bike nutral light came on but nothing else happened.

then a spark frome something near the batter box. Now nothing comes on or lights up.

I had some wires disconected and I think I put them in the right spots.

I don't have a manual. does anyone have wiring diagrams?

Thanks for you help in advance

It might help to know what kind of bike it is; model, year, displacement, etc.

A flame?

got any residual burning smell?

maybe your lucky and a corroded fuse decided to die in a spectacular fashion.

so lets assume everything is stable
dc the battery for now
,making sure you had connected the poles of the battery correctly.

check the fuses

old bikes are likely to have a nasty amount of corrosion.
you may be in for a bit of tedious cleaning work.

Bascliff's website has a manual for your bike I thibnk so take a look there.

got pics of this?

I will DC battery, and check fuse's. I will take photos of it now and after i reconect to be sure they are the same. I am not sure if at some point i connected the battery reversed. could this have done it?

thanks for your help.

Cool, thanks for the link.

I just looked amd the main fuse was bad. The nutral light and oil light now come on but nothis else works, no turn signals, head light, or starter.

hmm did yah check all the fuses?
and are you trying the switch in the correct psoitions?
The manual should have a directed troubleshooting guide to help you through this.

be cautious now as you may have a short circuit somehwhere you should look in the headlight buckets and so on
a cut or abraded wire wont go away without intervention.

They rest of the fuses look ok but i will replace them tomorrow.

based on the wirring diag. the regulator/ rectifier where it connects to the frame was what sparked.

also I found a loose wire on the right side that comes out of the main harness. it has a washer type end. i think it may go on the right side of the starter relay.

I will try this and let you know.
Thanks

found out that the 2 wires that connect to the tank controll the lights and starter.

the bike now turns over and the lights, turn signals, and horn work.

I still have one wire that is black with a white strip that comes out of the wire harnes on the starter side that has a washer type end.
i am not sure where it goes?
It is not the wire that goes to the right side of the starter is is already there.

Thanks to all for your help.

i have to look to see why it's not starting but I will put this in another post.
