A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Right now he has discovered a new west coast Kanadian word. GORE-TEX !! There is a light at the end of the tunnel if the forecast is right { Environment Kanada has difficulty predicting yesterday's weather } I'm hoping to get some pics around the city and then pass him to BigD83 for more.....

He sure is a cute little bugger! And he looks warm and well taken care of.... He doesn't have a red-bulbous nose from drinking. He looks good!

It's been beautiful weather the last couple of days so Stator and I decided to go for a quick spin around Stanley Park. I'm still a little weak so I'm only good for an hour or so out. I'll be passing him over to Big D83 for a better look around sometime this week.
Anyway on the way to the park Stator spotted some palm trees. He couldn't believe we have them in Kanada. I told him they were Snow Palms { he sure is a gullible little fella }

A little stop a English Bay just before entering the park. There is a beach just on the other side of the grass. Huge crowds I guess because it was Sunday.......

A little stop by the Rowing Club and seawall in the park. That seawall in front is about five miles around the park. Nice place to go for a walk or bicycle ride......

And another by the nine o'clock gun. That's it in that little shack on the left. A cannon they fire off every night at nine o'clock.......

Nice pics. Those look like tall Palmetto palms. I hated the Palmetto palms in FL, and they were everywhere. They harbored bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs. YUCK! You don't have Palmetto bugs there do you? Man I hated those things.

To be honest with you I don't know what kind they are or if they have bugs. Never heard of anyone mentioning bugs though. You've got my curiosity going so I'll see if I can find out.......

Real nice pics. Thanks for sharing and taking good care of Stator!

Do they bear coconuts?

Palmetto Palms don't bear coconuts, and I'm guessing the Windmill Palms don't either. Coconut Palms do (who knew?), they are very tall, have smooth trunks that look like cement, and long palm fronds instead of fan shaped. You gotta watch them suckers, they drop a coconut on your head and you die. I could hear them thumping on the ground sometimes outside my bedroom window. Ouch!

Garth, your camera and skills are going to put me to shame...

I am happy to announce that Stator spent hs first day getting into all sorts of trouble around the house. When I have spare moment or two, I'll upload some photos.

He was supposed to go on a ride with me this past Saturday, but plans changed when both girls decided they were coming with me, so I had to take the cage :(

I.....

.....

I too would not have thought of palm trees in Canada.

Snow Palms, you say.

They may not bear coconuts.
But does look like they attract cranes.

Nice photos.
