A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Stator, The GSR travelling mascot.

After lunch, I jumped back onto Ohio 41, passing the beginning of Ohio 763 I just came off of, and headed out to Portsmouth. Traffic was heavier by now and I got caught a few times behind real slow traffic but the road was great nonetheless. At one point, I stopped into Shawnee State Forest where Stator lounged near the creek and I was able to ask someone for a picture of us.

The ride still gave me a few surprises however as the road bypassing Portsmouth (Ohio 104) was closed for an accident. The detour took me back into Portsmouth and around to a point further north on Ohio 104 than I had planned which also meant I missed some good riding. When I realized where I was, I found another route which, although not as good, was still fun and even got me a bit lost. At one point near Bainbridge OH, I checked the maps on my phone and realized it had 6% remaining battery. Later, I stopped for gas in Xenia OH (close to home) and found it was still at 6%

Made it back to the garage at 7pm only an hour later than I originally planned and another 300 miles under my belt. The odometer is over 25,200 miles now and this makes the first year since I bought the bike that I have put in more than a couple of thousand miles. The bike has held up well throughout the year and I continue to be impressed. It's a great feeling to know you are upset when done with a fun twisty road or even a trip.

Back to work tomorrow and I'll need to update the log book for Stator. He's leaving here with some buckeyes and other doodads from Charmayne's marching band and my office. I'll get him out to Canada by next weekend.

Stator is ready to head off to Canada but a quick check of the USPS website says he'll need to wait until payday on Friday. I'll get him out next Saturday morning as I won't have time during the work day to get away from the hospital

He left for Canada on November 12th but USPS's website doesn't have any new tracking information beyond leaving the post office on the 12th. I'm hoping he actually is on his way to Trevor and not sitting in someone else's house

Hmmm, I hope CBSA hasn't tagged him as a drug-mule, and knocked the stuffing out of him ;)

Seems like a long time but it's typical that USPS 'tracking' doesn't really tell you much besides when the package left and when it was delivered. Hope he arrives soon.

Well good ol' Stator showed up to Trevor's while he was in Vegas last week. Quite the box of 'stuff' he came along with him that's for sure. Trevor will fill in the particulars later I'm sure. To celebrate Trevor's Birthday and the arrival of Stator we took him out to Trevor's local pub. Established in 1859 we thought it was fitting for a bear of such stature.

Welcome to Canada my little friend.

Welcome to Canada Stator. Are you going to over winter in Victoria where it's nice and warm or take the bus to the Kootenay's for some real Canadian winter activities and see some more of this country?

Getting ready to go for a good ride tomorrow...hopefully AZR will be joining us...So today I put Stator to work washing my bike.:)

Obviously, that is the "AFTER" picture. :-\\\

Good job, Stator. :encouragement:

.

Hahah yeah, I hope that's the after pic anyway! Never know with some of our folks.

Just today my son mentioned Stator to me, and I told him that Stator's in Canada now. I'm thinking that this spring we might adopt a little brother or sister of Stator to bring with us on rides, he might enjoy that, I know I would. I still have a patch laying around from when Flaming Chainsaws had them made. Yeah, this could be good!

Met up with AZR this morning and we went out for a 150km ride today. 10 (52) degrees and sunny. First stop was at Esquimalt Lagoon causeway...Then to Metchosin for coffee...
And then went to Sooke to do the Otter Point loop...What a day...Next week I hope to take Stator to town to get some "landmark" pics...

Next week? I can do it tomorrow!

Let me get this straight. That bear rides all over on the passenger seat, but never wears a helmet?
