    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Stay sharp!!

Yesterday on the way to work I was pulling onto a side street from a 4 lane highway. The side street is a small one with a 30mph speed limit. The turn veers off in a Y rather than being 90 degrees, so you normally let off the gas just as you bigin veering (so you don't get creamed by the maniac in back of you), and since it's a considerable incline you're going the speed limit before you can say 'It's all in the muffin batter'. This time a lady in front of me decided that instead of going straight she wanted to turn after all, so veered sharply across the painted lines and almost into ME. She saw what she'd done just as it was happening and actually did the right thing next, and veered back into the oncoming lane and stopped to let me by but I was already stopped just behind her, and just let her go. You never know when.

Perfect example of the best advice I've read: "Everyone is trying to kill you."

Glad you (and her) are ok!

Scary. I ride with the assumption that no one sees me, to them I am invisible.

Rarely does a day go by where there's not at least one close call for me out there. Utah finally just outlawed cellphone usage in the car for anything other than GPS and phone calls so we'll see if it improves, but I'm not counting on it.

I try to keep moving while within traffic and keep people aware of me with my bright lights, loud exhaust and reflectors galore but blind spots, preoccupied thoughts and other distractions often get the best of most drivers.

When I get cut off or nearly swiped, I'll often get in front of them or stop next to them at a light, shake my head and point to the back of my helmet where I have this:

What was ME doing in a position to get hit by HER??? I know you know where and where not to ride. Be aggressive about it when you have to.
