I have had my '79 Gs-850 since new. It always seemed like a top heavy machine. Especially since I had added a Vetter faring & tour trunk plus Samsonite side bags. The bike came with 17" rear & 19" stock Bridgestone tires. I presently have older Dunlop K series tires mounted. Plenty of tread but old and need replaced. The suspension is original as is most of the bike. My legs seem to be getting shorter and have some trouble balancing the bike. I'm 5'8'' and at 190lbs. but 32 yrs. older and somewhat not as nimble as I used to be. Are there any lower profile tires on the market that might get the bike down (lower) and or so with my stock rims? This is so I can have a more positive footing plus better overall balance. Or would I have to maybe switch to a smaller rim wheel for a better lowered feel? The stock seat has already had some foam lowering in the driver (rider) position. I just another inch or so of lowering.
Thanks for any input or advice on this.
