Sunday Brackets at Union Grove

So who is Mr GS1500 is that Trip? How bad was the red light? I hate red lighting. I would rather have a late light than a red light at least you still have a chance with a late light. But there is a fine line between a killer light and a red light. 9.33 @ 138 mph. What was your 60 footer? It was so hot in Georgia everyone was running .20 to .30 slower. It was probably hot and humid there too.
Trip is the man at Union Grove bring home the big bucks. Hope he bought dinner on the way home. Whoever wins in are group buys dinner on the way home that are rule.
You guys got me wanting to go back to the track but I just cant now I got my right leg in a soft cast I cant risk hurting it any worse if I want to make the MAN Cup race in mid November. I got my 1216cc Bandit motor all together for my Pro ET bike so I should be running that when I get back to racing. Hoping for some high 8's so I can run Super Comp. and Pro ET and it will be self starting. It is a super light chassis the lightest I have ever had.
a sneak peek at my Nicely ported head for the Pro ET bike with the 40mm Lectrons on.

Mr. Gs1500 is a lurker on this site.. His first name is Jeff... Trip is all over this site. The red light was .41 so it was pretty bad. 60 foot was 1.31. My bike runs better hot than cold... This was only a tenth off my best with this bike.. Hope the leg gets healed and let me know what a 8.90 feels like...And that picture looks great...
Curt

Wow that's a red light. We are going to have to call you Roxanne Lol. That's a descent 60 footer though. Put some Lectrons on that beast and she will go .20 quicker. Or come down to Florida in the winter and you will run .20 quicker. or do both and go 8.80. Any chance you guys can make the Man Cup Finals race at SGMP in mid November. So what does Trip and Lurker Jeff run on there bikes?
Sorry but I had to do it ;)

GS1150.jpgCurt,
Here is a pic of my first Pro ET bike. It went in the high 8.80's that's me a long time ago at the NHRA bracket finals in Gainesville Florida.

There were 3 racers named Jeff sitting under the same pop up.. Hot an humid morning 88 F and over 50 % humidity -- My bike - Well I needed some 122.5s' and would have taken 120s' but I managed with the 125. mains jets and left on my 15/46 gear. bike started at 9:53,9:50 time trials noon and 1-- the breeze was steady 10 mph that brought cooler drier air as the day went on. my bike picked up MPH every pass - 134 ~138 from start to finish - except one lap when I hit the brakes and passed thru at 133. still broke out by .009 - good thing there is buy backs. got Jeff - (not the jeff you are thinking of) in the BB or 2nd round - finished with a better package. also with a .023 won the bye for my next round. semi's? ok the final has a 2 second dial difference , a Harley to boot.. So I watch his tree come down and see his red light before mine starts -- I wait for a stale green light.... then run it O.T.B.D. -- a 9:42 on a 9:44 @138 my fastest run of the day - 1:34 60' .. we ran out of CO2 , Tire is almost at the cords , van broke down before I could get home and relax .. what a Sunday at the grove.

Sounds like you had a great day of racing with some cool dry air. Except for the van breaking down.
Hey Jr. and I are Jeff's also well I call him Jeffrey and I am call J.D.

Mr.1500 runs constant and consistant 8.50's... Its a real pretty bike with no slider. big horsepower and a lockup... We get to race again next weekend. A far as getting south for the Man Cup, I might have to relocate to Dallas to help with my mother in law... I don't wanna go...

Man the air up there must sux. That would be a 7.90 bike depending on the head work down here at Bradenton in the winter and 8.20 in the summer. Did I mention that Bradenton is about 20' above sea level. I think SGMP is about the same. It is a fast track in the winter also. Sorry to here about you mother in law. My wifey was taking care of her father at his house 450 miles away from us so she lived up there for a year and I would go up for a long weekend every month. We ended up moving him into our house now. He keep asking us when he gets better and can go back home and she keeps telling him he lives with us now. My wifey has two brothers and two other sisters and none of them will help out with him and he is the best father inlaw anyone could ask for and has been my father for 34 years now. He just does not understand he can't live alone any more. If or when you go to Texas it is another state where the bikes run quicker.
my house is only 10' above sea level.

You guys have all the good stuff. The rough thing is I have a buddy that lives 9 miles from the track in Bradenton... The in law thing is tough. My wife took care of both my parents as they got older. Both with Alzheimers... I got that to look forward to... The Dallas thing will be decided by the end of the year...
Curt

Curt,
Does you friend race at Bradenton?
I live 50 miles away from Bradenton, 75 miles from Immokalee, 90 miles from Sunshine, 130 miles from Orlando, 190 miles from Palm Beach, 230 mile from Gainesville, 360 miles from SGMP, and 400 miles from Atlanta. These are the tracks I have raced at now I never realized I lived so close to so many tracks.
In Nov. at SGMP when we go to the Man Cup race we are going to get all our testing done at home and just go Saturday and Sunday so only one night in the motel were are going on the cheep for the last race. I want to enter 2 classes. Hence my name STETRACER is what I used to run all the time But it means st and et now they call it pro et. But I used to race the same bike in both classes because they would let me run the slider in the street class way back then. My 85 GS1150 is what I used to race but it is under a complete change bigger pistons, little bit of rake, different swingarm and frontend set up. This will be the first time I will be running two different bikes.

No, he does not race... It sounds like you will have a blast at the Cup.. Glad you told me what the st et thing meant. I hope to go this coming weekend. The weather has to be good...Wish I could take a trip south before I have to go west, but not in the cards.
Curt

Good luck at the track this weekend Curt. I hope you win. And have lots of fun. Winning is always fun.

Had a great time at the races Sunday. First round red light. Bought back in and beat Mr. 1500 in the 3rd round. Ended up in the final and lost on a .021 red light. Still had a great time. Last of the season is Oct. 5.
Curt

winner winner chicken dinner. I won Saturday event which made 2 victories in a row. . 5 rounds of competition I ran 3, 9:43 ET laps -- and if you look at the 1000' times (7:80) all 5 were dead on. double 0 reaction times 3 out of 5 also.

sunday Curt learned the secret of the bottom bulb - and went to the final !! Great Job !!!

Its the end of the season for brackets at Union Grove this weekend. One day event on the 5th. Hopefully the whole gang will be there. We are all hoping for dry pavement. I know it will
be cool temps. After this I will probably be moving to Dallas for family responsibilities by the end of the year. Hope I can find a track in the area....All you locals that threatened to come up,last chance...
Curt

cancelled for tomorrow 10-5-2014. The timing system is on the fritz .. I want to ride my new bike Curt. heck I want to ride your new bike TOO!!!

Quiet day at Union Grove. Went and ran a couple laps. 9.50 at 144. Time to put the toys away till next year.
Curt

So I have a new address... Plano Texas. Been here about a month and miss the gang. Been staying in touch with Trip. I found one track north of me. 1/8th mile with a lot of runoff. Went to watch on Dec 9th. Temp was 70 and there were about 20 cars. IHRA and seems to be professionally run. We will see this coming season. Hope the gang up north is staying warm...
Curt

we may have to start a new thread belucci - Great Lakes Dragaway motorcycle brackets have been cancelled forever. New years party with the track owners was "interesting" to say the least.

we are going to NHDRO and 2 Wheel Speed. may hit an event at Rte.66 so we can get on a bracket final team - (nhra) or Byron.

Hope you are enjoying the warmth in Plano, but I have your GS street bike!! Ha! the engine is out and disassembled - You are so lucky - What I found in the oil pan and pick up can UGH.. When you get it back it is going to be a little more powerful ... and a little blue bottle on it's side.

That's a shame. I don't know if there is a bike bracket class down here yet. And as far as my red ES, It was a free motor to us. I am sure glad you took it apart so we don't ruin that big end crank...Now, about the blue bottle. You are putting it on the wrong bike! Get all the plumbing together, throw it in whatever vehicle you are driving down here in, and a pile of cash will be waiting! Just because this track is short doesn't mean there isn't a quarter mile just a little more south of Dallas. And giggle juice sounds fun no matter what the length of the track.................
