A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Absolutely looks 100% better that song " lady in red" is drifting thru my mind --- I still LOVE THAT FRONT WHEEL! I need one!

Really miss you belucci - cheese burgers at the lotus are not the same! look up twowheelspeed greg took it back and has some new classes - how's the action in TX?

Hey Trip... you have no idea how much I miss home. Of course the weather is a little better down here. 86 tomorrow and you guys are supposed to be in the 40's. But when all your friends are in Chicago area, it does not help... Have not figured out when I am coming for a visit due to Susie's car sucking a head gasket. We are going to pick up a used Lexus coupe tomorrow. Not something I wanted to do but at least it has no salt on it yet. Say hi to your honey and I will take to you soon...
Curt

howdy Curt! it is snowing right now - as they say it's cooler by the lake! no salt? how nice Trish says hi back , she also likes your new paint job on the race bike.

we will still be practicing at GLD - but I have registered to race championship points at route 66 in Joliet. My dream is to make it to winter nationals in Pomona. So we will be back to delay box racing against the Fosters, McCartens, Linders, and other national caliber sportsman racing teams. I have slowed the big bike down again and expect middle 9's are the ticket to gain some success. 24'th is go date = photos to follow.

as always you have a ride when you visit. Your street bike may not be registered but it has a better engine that it did when you sold it to me. Maybe not as good as the ray belucci engine it once had but 120 horses to thrash is not small potatoes.

keep a good attitude - we miss you too. trip-n-trish.

Hope the weather gets better by you.. We are still recovering from a hail storm 2 weeks ago. Damaged 700 new cars and totaled about 250. Good luck with Pomona, rooting for you. I will watch for photos. Send a text when you post...

here is what rte 66 looks like

here is what rte 66 looks like

all 4 gears like a champ. - thanks for the video.

DSC00042_zpskgzzojxn.jpg photo of me warming up ' 'ol silver -- the video I posted is me against Bruce Damewood 1st event 1st round .021/.023 reaction times - we were almost even from the start - I got to 1000' and took a look blipped the throttle - he was coming on strong so I opened the throttle back up and it was a race for the stripe - .001 to my advantage -- wha-shoo that was a close one.

Da-Grove is racing brackets at 1/8 th this year - bikes and cars mixed together 2 classes top(box) and Mod (no box) I am in 6th place -- rte 66 is full 1/4 and I am in 7th. dropped from 4th after a relay malfunction - bad day. Delay boxes are not easy to use and crossover function is necessary with crosstalk enabled.

That should be interesting. More competition but a bigger purse I imagine... Good luck and have fun.

Things are changing down here for me. Looks like I will be headed back north by the end of the year. Can't wait for cooler weather and friends to race with...
Curt

Curt

Curt,

I'll be ready for you guys. Thank you going to park that trophy next to the matching one I have. Sure like this bike.

Thanks Bobgroger, I'm from Minnesota. Race track is called Grove Creek Raceway. 1/8th mile.

Union Grove Wisconsin. I remember it well. My first time there was in... (drum roll)... 1958. I bought my first bike from a guy who lived on the east west road a half mile west the track.

By 1961 four of us had a fuel dragster and belonged to the Top Twenty run out of house in Chicago where "The Greek" lived. Those were the days. After a year or so we switched from our overtaxed Chevy to the old 392 Hemi's and instead of wrenching between rounds we able to sit around and drink coffee and talk to the girls. Yes, young ladies came to the track and I got to know a couple.

The original track owners were Bob and Marge Metzler??? Broadway Bob then bought or ? the track.

I have some fond memories. Don Garlits (we bought two of his chassis when Connie Swingle for the welding) Art Arfons, Doug Rose, Ted Beilow, Arnie Beswick, Lyle Fisher, Chris Karimacides (sp) The Greek, Peter Farnworth, Jon Tunison, Dick Gelding, Bruce Andrews, Del Fisher, Roy Miller, Joe Mondello, Bud Jon and Don, Wes Cerney... there's a great story and on and on.

The only bike around was Elmer Trent??? "The Michigan Mad Man" with his Chevy powered bike - quite a show.

Thanks for the memories.

You're right Steve -about E.J Potter and Elmer Trett... old age is setting in even deeper. Thanks for the clarification.
