Suzuki factory tool special uses

You ever wonder if those rough casted factory tools are good for anything. Well as a self employed handyman jack of all trades I have to be a little creative some days. I had to replace a faucet valve stem in a customers kitchen. As you see from the pic that the clearance between the wall and the ss sink was about 4" and the sink was a extra deep one. I could not get pliers sockets or nothing from my van in there. So I remembered I had a wrench from all the way back in the 1970's out of a factory tool kit for a Suzuki dirt bike. Well since those tools are cheap castings my hacksaw sliced right through it. I cut out the width of the side inlet to slide over the stem and was able to tighten it right up. I was a little sad to cut into my past but it got me out of a tight jam.

Nice, a tech is only as good as his knowledge,his tools....and his imagination. field modified tools could probably be a whole subset of tools.

Thanks Steve but I'm ok I think. I rarely used it, and as you can see from the dog leg of the previous straight handle I also abused it.

Well Steve what that really means is Jon and I need to road trip out to Ohio to help you on your bikes! That's a thought, I'll get to see the inside of you garage for a change! Heck I should say hey to TCK while were at it.

But I will miss seeing the Sienna hogging up the garage every now and then LOL. Remember your always welcome at my place if you are in our neck of the woods.

Congrats on the new job, I bet the family is excited to have you closer to home more often!
