A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Good stuff on the R/R! However, your stator definitely will have 3 wires and all three should be yellow.

Behind your counter sprocket cover, you'll have two bits of harness, one from the stator and one from the gear position indicator switch.

Follow the one from the stator and there will be your answer, by default one of the wires goes into the main harness instead of straight to the R/R.
I got it all figured out :).

You guys are awesome!

Good stuff, glad you got it figured.
Yup! So basically, I can start riding right now. Or paint :-k. You know... I'm very tempted to just go ride . But alas, I have a project to finish. Two weeks!

OK... I'll just hook it up and test with a multimeter. I guess I'll have to put gas into the gas tank again then drain it when I'm done.

Depending on the year they may not all be yellow Pete. I think mine are like white/green, blue/green, and yellow. They serve the purpose of all yellow wires though!

So true, I actually think I was wrong and I think it's the R/R side that's all yellow on mine, been a while since I looked...

And FC, make sure you get your assessment sorted first so you don't have to repeat, then go ride the wheels off it :D

A quick ride won't hurt right . Nah. My jacket hasn't arrived yet but I did get a new helmet from a friend! Actually, I'm borrowing until I can get my own.

So no riding for me yet. I want to finish the paint this week!

duaneage's Honda R/R is much bigger than stock!

No room for igniter. I also had to remove the fuse holder.

Guess it's time to make an underseat electronics tray :).

Besides that, it ran great and the voltage stayed under 15v. I recommend a duaneage Honda R/R :).

I'm feeling pretty good today. So I'll share some more.

Pink! Well... It's hardly pink. I'd say peach .

And black... It's the guide coat. I will start wet sanding tomorrow.

In case you guys missed what I said, I will be ditching the side covers and relocating the electronics. The side covers just looked terrible with the seat. They did not line up at all! So with that said, the side covers are for sale.

Tim Tom, I know that you love a cafe bike where you can see right through the frame :D

It would also make the bike look lighter and cooler :).

Good choice on the covers, they're just not right with that seat pan.

I was going to keep them since I was too lazy to move the electronics. But now that my igniter won't fit because of the huge R/R, I'll have to do it now .

Moving the electrics isn't hard at all actually, and you'll probably only need to adjust the length of the battery leads and starter leads depending where you put them.

I planned on making a small 1.5" X 7" metal box with the top open for under the seat. Then get a smaller AGM battery to go under the seat hump. Know what I'm saying?

The starter solenoid will be in front near the gas tank so that I won't have to do anything with the starter wire. I will only have to make a longer positive battery cable.

The R/R will be in the rear so that the ground wire can reach the battery's negative terminal.

But again, it's another project for later as, right now, my igniter is on the other side of the electronics plate :o. Hey, it works!

VERY interesting... But how many times can you crank the bike before the battery dies? How long will they last until you have to replace them?

Well, my bike starts right up after .1 second of pushing the starter button so I should be fine :)

I will get it this summer.

Save space and less weight. Thanks Pete!

By all reports those A123 cells are pretty amazing and you won't have to worry about a new battery for a while. They use those to power electric bikes and things as well apparently...
