A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Just been to the spares store to get a voltage regulator for the
Suzuki GSX750 es on a 1987 model. He gave me a pattern part for
?51.00 the suzuki part would of cost ?160. Anyway got the part
home
and it was the wrong one went back to the shop and he told me after
searching suzuki parts that they do not make a pattern part for this
model. Absolutely gutted he had never seen this voltage regulator
before so I asked him if he had anything with similar wiring as it is
the 3 phase one with 3 yellow wires, one red, one black with a white
trace. He gave me a voltage regulator for the suxuki sv650 and said
the wires are the same with different plugs on. I have wired it up
and it seems to be working but how long for? anyone heard of this
being done before? will it be okay? as I have only temporary wired
it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, only had the bike a few
months and it has already cost alot of money in parts. All the
best .Paul.

It should work out fine. Be sure and solder those wire splices.

i would suggest you read the stator papers in GSresoures. IF your RR had fried you have probably have a stator problem. Suziki GS models are famous for stator and rr problems. I f I were you i would do the test thats in the stator papers to pin point your problem. then order replacement parts from ELECTREX which is based in Europe. Here is the US website
