A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.
A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.
where did you have the rear hoop bent?
A place in Mapleton did it for me. It's called Hjorth Brothers and you want to ask for Casey. Tell him that Tate sent you up and he should do it for $25. Pretty good considering prefabbed ones online go for about $50. He did a heck of a job on mine (mine was bent to 166? with a small radius instead of the standard 180? because of how I'm building my rear end) and nailed my dimensions perfectly. I just talked to him on the phone, in fact, and he'd be happy to help any of my buddies out.
Not quite sure what you're meaning but I'll take a stab at answering your question. Are you meaning the distance between the two? It's something like 72mm. As far as the holes go they are both on the same plane so there is no offsetSweet! What is the offset for the bolt holes on the rearset brackets?
They are weld on. No need for so many bolts. . More weight and more flexrearset brackets are weld or bolt on?
Looks good, but a question, can't tell from the pics, will the kickstarter work with the rearsets in place?
I actually have the same swinger on my bike and have had the joys of doing almost the same things to my bike as well (grinding the brackets off gs1100 swingarm etc). I also am purchasing YSS shocks and am having mine built a little longer than yours (380mm). My biggest concern is that my chain will rub my shock with a centered clevis mount like yours. How is your clearance? Are you running a stock chain? I'm running a 520 non o-ring chain so it's quite narrow but it is offest 1/4" so that takes up most of the difference and puts it once again closer to where the shock will mount.. I should be good but you know what they say, measure twice and cut once.
After seeing how mine sits with the ~350mm shocks you will be on the upper limit with your 380's. I think 365mm would be ideal.
