Tanks that might fit an 81 400L?

What tanks Fit the 81 GSx400L?

I am looking for a little added range. Possibly the 80-81 Gs450 E models will fit? A forum search wasn't too helpful.

I think a model like this might work...but I can't really tell without some measurements anyone have an idea?

I think you will find that it does fit. You may need to fiddle with the length of the fastener to secure and your seat may not fit due to length and shape difference of the new tank.

A GS550 tank fitted onto my 77 400 without any modification. See build thread link below.

With some mods, I put a larger tank (from a 650) on my 850L. Much better, 4 gal. instead of 3.2 gal.

Yep, a very popular tank for good reasons; a great shape, cafe style and a good size. I've only seen 2 rusty examples on eBay below $100 in the last 6 months. Good ones go quick.
