    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Technical photo uploading question

Ok, I consider myself computer savoy until I tried uploading some pics into a post. It said my files were too big...way too big. I used the worst resolution on my camera and made them ultra small and still they were too big. But then I see other posts with huge pics right in with the text, not links. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong...better yet, can anyone tell me how to do it right?
 
Put the pictures on photobucket or something and when you make a post click on the image icon (it looks like mountains) and past the link to the photo in the box that will pop out at you.

I usually upload mine to the family website for display here.
 
Funny thing is, it was your pics I was thinking about. I'll try that next time...I need to get snapfish or something.... BTW. Did you get the diaphragms yet?

Yes I did thank you very much!! I even got the whole rebuild done. I had to swap out the needles because the ones in the new diaphragms were to long. I grabbed a little retaining clip remover from the hardware store for $13 and it took care of it no problem!

I couldnt get them as clean as I wanted but I am sure a few more washes and they will come back a little more:

I'm glad they arrived ok. They weren't the most table thing to pack.

So what are you using to clean with? They look pretty good. I found I prefer brake cleaner for just about everything. Another thing I have done is put a small buffer wheel on my drill and use some mothers chrome polish to shine up the tops and the bowls.
 
btw, I see tile in the corner of the photo. Still using the kitchen table? I got busted for using the coffee table recently but where else can you work on small parts and watch tv?.. I used a towel but I got chewed for that too.

LOL yup yup yup. I can get away with it cause we are packing and moving so the house is a shambles right now. Otherwise I my other half would $hit her pants ;)

The carb cleaner and a brillow pad took care of the tops and bowls. The hard part was the carb housing, I used every brush and angle I could to try and clean those things. Like I said, TWO 1 gallon cans of carb dip are now blacker than coffee. They were nasty. I can't beleive I even started this thing for the little bit I did with the carbs in the shape they were in. Missing plugs, screws, chewed diaphragms.
