DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey, I hope this is cool, but I re-drew that diagram...

If you've got other diagrams like this you want re-drawn just lemme know.

cheater! That looks a lot more user friendly. Mine was done hastily on a break at work. Nor am smart enuf to lay that out on a computer.

I just traced it, I couldn't have done it without your drawing!

Seriously, if you got any other doodles you want traced pass em on.
I did that in less than an hour while I was waiting on a phone call.

All for the cause, and I enjoy doing it.

I'll have to dig up the one I did for a points ignition. You'll have more work in that one it's a mess.

Almost finsihed

Obviously it needs a solid cleaning yet, and a nut replaced or cleaned here or there, but for a firat build i think it turned out okay.

And the next project, ANOTHER 80 gs1000. This ones my neighbors so its going to be a totally different sytle. But still a fun build. Its just getting rolling now.

And YES, it has a harley springer on it!!! :)

Its his firat bike so there will also be a front brake and front fender. He's goin with some mini apes and a 50's style paint job. Should be a good one.

Oh wow... I just realized what (I think) that SoCo bottle is... Is that a fuel gauge? If so, that's freaking awesome.

Yes it is in fact. You can probably see where my foolish self filled it up and forgot to tie off the clear tube so it stripped the paint. No biggie. Little tape and repaint and she's good as new.

I origionally had it located in the center, top side of the tank (see earlier photos) but found that having a 90 degree nipple on the top caused an air bubble to get trapped and prevent a accurate read. So i moved it to the PETCOCK side of the tank.

One reason the petcock side is so i know how much fuel the bike has at the petcock. If i were to run out, i could lean the bike WAY over on its right side and drain some fuel from the left side to get me a few more miles.

It reads pretty damn close to empty, and pretty damn close to full and everywhere in between.

I dig it, little different. Kinda wish the fuel was a little darker though.

The Dice you see under the speedo is also functional as my tach. I mean not REALLY functional, but it spins all cool like when the engines running
:) Guess the only purpose is if you were deaf, and perhaps have no working nervous system to FEEL the bike running, you could look at at that and see its on. HA

I almost did that with my tach. Instead I just tapped the housing and put a bolt in to delete the whole works.

Hi,
Im doing a 78 GS750, what year and model is that tank off of?
Thanks!

Good lookin scoot by the way!

Henry

Great build. Looks great. Thanks for posting all the useful pics. I know I'll be using this a resource for my own build. Very helpful!!!

Glad to hear you like it. If it's helpful to one person, my job is done :D

I cant ride this bike anywhere wiithout people looking at it. I even have people talk to me WHILE riding down the road. :D

Im in the process of fixing up my buddys bike. He's also got an 80 gs1000g. Were going with a 50's rock a billy style for him. Ill post some photos of that one later.
