Hey i joined the site about a month ago and just wanted to bragg a bit about my bike. It is a pretty much all stock 1981 gs 750. I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada and a friend and I went on a trip this summer. We left saskatoon and drove strait west about 16 hours till we hit the west coast in British Columbia and then went strait down into the United States and down the coast of Washington, Oregon, California, and into Tijuanna. We rode some of the most amazind twisty and steep roads along the coast. After that we drove through the mojave desert and into Las Vegas and stayed there for a bit then ripped up the interstate 15 and back home to Canada. The trip ended up being about 10000 km's (6000 miles) and took us 3 weeks. My old GS ran like a true champ....a few minor hickups along the way buy nothing serious. It handled great on the twisties. What well built bikes these old Suzuki's are eh!!!

If anyone knows how to post pictures i will post some of the pictures....we found some really cool places.

One day in california we went exploring for a while and found a really old rundown narrow road up in the mountians right off highway 1 on the coast. They were very steep and windy and had no lines or signs on it and sometimes turned into gravel. We couldn't figure out what the point of the roads were untill we stumbled into some buildings way out in the booneys. There was a guy there and it turns out that the place was a buddist retreat center. They had bought it from the state of california and it was the former location of a california prision.

Dink, I just checked that forum and the FAQ. Neither says much to help someone who's as computer illiterate as I am. I'd like to know how to post pic's but I've struggled trying to in the past. So I just stop trying.
I guess I need detailed info that describes things simply, like click this, click that...maybe I'd catch on. Maybe this info can't be sent as simply as I wish. This stuff's really over my head.
I've tried to help people here that are in over their heads with learning to work on a motorcycle. I give detailed info if the person seems like they need it or not. I didn't think it was too much to ask to be told how to post pic's.
But my previous comment was just me joking around. Yes, I'd like to learn, but if it doesn't happen, that's the way it goes. Posting pic's would probably keep me at the computer even longer, probably a bad thing. :roll:

Ok see the picture of your GS above, right click on it and select propertys, now left click and drag across across whats there to high lite it now right click and select copy.

You should have now copied this

Now to post the picture hit the img tag, right click and hit paste after the image tag then hit Img tag again.

I apologise Keith,I suppose likea lot of old timers I get sick of seeing the same questions posted again and again.
For you Keith I will try and break it down as step by step as I can.
1) open another window (browser window) use this second window to find the picture you wish to post.
2)in your original window (window 1 for clarity)type your post,and decide where you wish to place your picture.
3)go to the other window (window 2 as used in step number 1) point at the picture you wish to use, right mouse click on it. this should bring up a menu, from this menu select "Properties". When you select properties another smaller window will open called properties, on this you will see a label that says "AddressURL) http://www.wheremypictureis.com/picture/properties/mypicture.jpg

you point to the http:/etc; and highlight it by left mouse clicking and dragging the mouse across it to highlight it. SPECIAL NOTE if the image is on msn or similar stop at he file extension(i.e. .jpg, .gif etc DO NOT include anything after that) once the address is highlighted, right click on the highlighted bit, and one of the options is to "copy", select copy and now swap to window one where your post is waiting,above the box you type in is a series of "Tags" one of these is "Img" click it and something that looks very similar to [ img ] will appear, right click next to it and select "Paste" and you should see the "address" you copied appear, now click the "Img" tag again and something that looks a lot like[ /img] will appear after the address you pasted in.
4)to see if you did it right use the [/img]Preview button next to the Submit button, if the image appears as you wanted it, everything is OK if not you need to adjust where you placed the image, you can preview it as many times as you have to.

With your info and wrench's and others, I finally learned how to send a pic', at least from my website. There's still more to learn but I made progress.
I know what you mean about posting the same old info about a subject. But what would we have to reply to if we didn't? :lol:
I also learned today that the exact procedure for posting a pic' may vary slightly from computer to computer. So I can understand why some people don't reply.
When you sent me that e-mail with a pic' and info about wheel alignment, I said to myself I would just like to learn how to do these things. I haven't learned to do that yet, but maybe what I learned today will make that procedure easier to figure out too.

Keith that one was easy it was a scan saved on my own computer.
Things are OK here, not enough hours in the day of cause, struggling to find time to ride,without getting in trouble :wink: for ignoring "more important things" 8O 8O ,the Tractor is currently parked for a shock re-build I decided when it started hitting the bump stops that time had finally come :wink: :wink: so "unfortunately"
I am stuck riding the Katana at present, when I can find time :roll:
