    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I should be picking up a pretty, intact Zukimatic in a few days. Anything I need to know about these little guys? I know they dont have the MPG that a standard does and Ive heard they were under powered due to the auto trans, but are we talking about the same engine with just a different gearbox?

Congratulations! Yes, a regular 2-valve per cylinder 450cc with a different gearbox and shaft drive.

There's an owner's manual and a wiring diagram on my website (thanks to contributors) if you'd like it. There may be something else in the "More Manuals" section.

They are a bit unique, spoke wheels with a shaft drive for one. Honda and Kawasaki made similar bikes. The Engine uses the same oil as a our regular bikes do.

They are rare but probably share many chassis and body parts with the 450 L or E models. It would be interesting to see if mag wheels from a shaft drive L model would fit this bike or not.

A friend of mine just rode off on hers, after letting me take a spin around the parking lot. Funny thing. Neutral, Low, and High, and no clutch. She said the clutch lever was an emergency brake. It started up real easy, and putted fairly quietly. I forgot to check how high the speedometer goes :cool:
 
I have one that I'm currently working on. Not much left before I can try firing her back up to see if the carb cleaning went as planned.

I'm not sure about swapping parts around on these because I've just started with this one. It'd be nice to have some sort of resource showing what's swappable.
 
Enjoy it! I've always liked the idea of having an automatic in the stable, so that I could teach my wife how to ride a "real" bike. She's not the sort who wants to shift her own gears...

Unfortunately, I didnt got to pick up the 450A. Took a look and the guy had a revelation that the bike was worth way more than he listed he wanted. Oh well.
 
That happens, it only takes some "expert" or a search on ebay to declare an old bike made of gold.

So, what was the revelation on the price. They are very unique, and really hard to come by. I have 2 and looking to sell one. Spent alot of time and $ bringing them back to oem quality. Imagine this, the last one I bought the previous owner had told me he had bought the bike from a person with (1) arm, right one. So, everything was modified for the right side user, with Honda parts. Missing emergency brake lever and cable, side covers and needed tires and a good going over. Bought it a stripped it down to the frame. Went through the engine and electronics. Repainted the frame and reassembled it. Found all the parts I needed and the bike is like new. I am looking to sell and would like to have my own revelation. I have to start thinning the herd. I have an 82 850g and a 82 1100g that I would like to sell but I can't decide which one to part with. Both have been restored to oem. Just can't decide on a dollar amount. A revelation hasn't struck me yet!!!!:-k
