A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

The views expressed in this forum are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of "The GSResources" or the editors.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The guy that shipped this should be shot!

It has been in Post Office hell for three weeks!
I found out that it was stranded at a PO in Richmond, CA. for a week as "undeliverable."
Then, after posting a missing/non-delivered claim to the PO, also after calling ALL PO's in the Richmond zipcode that might have it that didn't know where it was,
I received an E-mail from the PO saying that it is now at my local PO branch and still non-deliverable!
I called that branch just minutes after receiving the E-mail and the woman there told me that "the PO doesn't send E-mails!"
After getting her to look up the tracking number, she said that it has already left for Richmond, CA. on its way back to Maryland and there is no way to stop it in transit.
So, I got the E-mail that it was HERE, two hours AFTER it was sent back!
That was two days ago.

Fast forward to today.
My next door neighbor calls me over to the fence and says that this large/heavy box was in her yard and figured that it must be for me as it has my name and address CLEARLY printed in 1" letters on it in magic marker.
The seller already told me that he would be shipping it back, at his cost, when it gets back to Maryland.
This time, he was going to use UPS as the PO obviously doesn't know what they are doing.

Anyhow, here is the destroyed package!:

Clearly, it has been leaking too!

Continued...

We had the same thing with a set of step-on pedal to open the lid trash cans. Shipped in their original flimsy box- like you purchase them in the store. Same sahape as yours- just trashed.

Whew! For a second there I thought you were talking about the part that I sent you last week!

I had an exhaust delivered once. It was packaged in much the same manner.
The Purolator guy also dropped it from chest height in front of me.

Most unpleasant but it is hard to break an exhaust.

WTF is the part? Shooting someone seems a bit rash. Maybe a brutal beating instead?

Or, at least, jumping to conclusion or blaming the shipper for dropping it yourself in your shop perhaps?
Where have I read something sounding similar recently? :-k

At the very least, he should be called out on this site in a public forum, right?
Especially if I dropped it myself and CAUSED the damage. ;)
(Not the case this time, at least.)

Eric

So a mild taunting and a feigned kick in the balls? You know just to get him to flinch.

Show us the part. I am trying to figure what would require a long box and leak that much oil.

A monoshock and cushion lever assembly?
A transmission form a wringer washer?

It's a GS part, Jeep.
Afterall, this is a GS site, duh..

What's in the box :?::?::?:

Wanted to insert a poll, but couldn't figure out how to insert it into my post without starting a whole new thread. So here are my "poll" choices as to the identity of the contents of the box:

a. crankshaft:?:

b. shocks:?:

c. fork tubes:?:

d. a giant pepperoni calzone:?:

Should I blame the shipper for this TERRIBLE damage or do you think that it was before it even got shipped?

"This part is now WORTHLESS!!!"

I should probably DEMAND my money back even though it was insured, right?
And, attempt to PUBLICLY HUMILIATE HIM, right?

Eric

What's worthless is your picture.

WTF are we looking at?
What's wrong with it?
If you're bitching about that little scratch you're a pussy.

Most of that scratch is in the clear coat anyway.
And the PO seems to have played volleyball with the package.

Used to get badly packed things at work. You would be shocked how many IT people think foam peanuts are good for electronics that get hot.

Paint stripper followed by 1000 grit silicon carbide wet\dry paper followed by a buffing wheel or simila measure.

He's stirring sh!t.

By the way, both the PO and UPS will not deliver a package that is leaking flammable liquid through the box, as that one clearly had. Which is probably why they deemed "undeliverable". Which is why they ask you if there is anything flammable, breakable, perishable or potentially hazardous when you attempt to ship it...
