    Welcome!
Register to access the full functionality of the GSResources forum. Until you register and activate your account you will not have full forum access, nor will you be able to post or reply to messages.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Take a minute and read all the articles in the Announcements forum. Also read the Forum FAQ. Between these two areas a lot of your questions will be answered in how we run things here.

A common problem is with new users posting articles in the incorrect forums. Take your time and READ the descriptions listed for the all the forums on the forum main page BEFORE posting. It should be pretty self-explanatory. If you jump the gun and post an article where it doesn't belong, I may move it but I will probably just delete it (depending on my mood). We have only a few rules here, but posting in the wrong area is a big peeve of mine. Please pay attention to what you are doing.

Enjoy the forums! I'm sure you'll find the people who hang out here to be a valuable source of information for maintaining your GS.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The NEW forum software is here!

As you can probably see, we are now running XenForo software for the forum. This is similar to the original vBulletin before they decided that they didn't want to just do forums and then they went nuts. So this is a forum only. No blogs, media centers, etc.. I hope it will be a more pleasant experience, especially on my end. ☺️

Even though this is similar to the old vBulletin, this is still new to me. I spent a lot of time after the migration setting up permissions, cleaning out old forums, etc. but I may have missed something. So if something isn't working the way you think it should then put it in the Forum Q&A forum and let me know by Direct Message. I'll try to keep my eye on it.

Some of the changes include a more robust search engine. That was causing a lot of the problems with vBulletin in that it would crash the system cache. ElasticSearch which XenForo is using is working very well and isn't causing any system problems at this point. Just understand that our database is huge so depending on your search terms, it could take a while to give you results.

With this new software I am not sure what if any restrictions signatures have when editing them. But with this new environment, I would like to see signatures fixed so that they aren't displaying broken links, etc.. That's just a peeve of mine. I'll give you some time to fix them but after a while, say a month or so, I may just go and delete sigs that look broken and trashy. So get them fixed up and save me having to do it.

Also, I've done a lot of work with forum permissions. If you had access to "The Vortex" or the GS Bible Study group but don't now, then send me or dpep a DM.

So give this software a whirl and let me know what you think.
