A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The vinegar rust removal paradox

The way i found to stop flash rusting is to empty the vinegar (neat vinegar - nothing mixed with it) then immediately fill with water from a hose and just leave the hose running to flush the gunge out. Stop the hose and pull off the tap and as the water comes out blast the inside of the tank with WD40 (as soon as the water has dropped an inch start the WD40 blasting).

I used some acid to get rid of the rust then used a Water hose as described. While the tank was nearly full of water but with acid flushed out I put some por-15 metal prep in. It coats the metal long enough to get the water out and you can get some gas into it. I think I threw some alcohol in at the end to get rid of any residual water in the gas. Tank came out dpik and span. I may have also sloshes around a little gas at first to mix and dilute the residual water while also coating the tank

The motorcycle kit is good for three, maybe four bikes. How much is in the starter kit and does it have all of the different steps?

The starter kit does have all the steps just less of each.

Works better than anything else I've tried and won't flash rust your tank.

OK, the moto tank kit gives eight ounces of paint and a quart of the other two, it did at lest two tanks and almost a third one. it the starter kit has at least three ounces of paint that should be enough.

Clr works wonders.... swish it around a lot... drain it... use a little gas (2cups) and swish that around to rinse out the clr. Fill and ride.
