well with the non serviceable auto on the 5.7 and a seemingly newly sourced 6 speed with the 6.1 who knows about the challenger. i'm betting it will sell more than the maro. but they will both be at the least decent cars with cool retro appeal. it'll be interestng to see which older folks trade in their bmws and lexus's and benzes to get some glory day new car muscle.

they're both gonna be pretty much out of or not worth buying at the lower end spectrum of their model base.

It's funny i've been seeing a lot of middle aged folks in sti's and evolutions. i know theyre a blast to drive and still get decent mileage as well as good handling but man those old farts must be taking a beating with those kidney beater cars.

I def love the sti but it's too rich for my blood. i'd get a g35 before i'd get the wrx. but just barely.

G35 is a badass car too...i have a deep love for Nissan. I wish i could afford the 350Z, that and that i wasnt too damn tall to fit in the sombltch comfortably. If i had money to shlt out for a car, just randomly, it would DEFINATELY be the Nissan R390GT....that thing does ought-60 in under 3, pulls THREE HORIZONTAL G"S before it starts to get squirley and is just PLAIN GORGEOUS..

Had a 78 T/A...400 Bigblock...289 race cam..(the thing would die at traffic lights if you left it in gear and didnt two foot it, it loaped so hard) 3:73, B&M slapstick shift kit, firehawk tires...thing looked like hell as it was all in primer and the interiour had been gutted but for the seats. But i used to eat Rustangs for breakfast in that thing like no ones business....13 flat in those street tires with ME behind the wheel...and im no drag racer...

Poncho big blocks RULE. They can lay down some torque that'll make yo momma cry... Hehe first thing I said when you put the 289 cam was "**** that's almost TOO big". Poncho boys don't usually go that big in the cam department. They leave that the big block Chevy boys.... Fire Hawk tires are the ONLY tire to put on muscle cars. I'll fight anyone to death over that too :-D

FVCKING AWESOME!!!

New Camaro is getting the T56. Awesome trans. Been around a good time also. I can almost see the Challenger owners breaking their new trans in half

Yeah its interesting to see how that plays out. I don't know what to think about them making 6 cylinder base models. I guess they make them because they're a demand for them so they might sell after all. Besides its common knowledge that 6 cylindered muscle cars outnumbered V8 ones back in the day. So I wonder how this trend is gonna play out

And yeah those WRXs are pretty pricey. Way more than I can afford

awd is fantastic until something goes wrong. a lot of parts and components all costing a ton.

and ya know you can drift with the wrx sti pretty easy. as well as the evo. takes a bit of skill though. and they have torque splitting transfer cases stock to help out.

That the new Nissan thats going for 1 million and change? Looks nice. Reminds me of the Mercedes.... BAH I forget what they're called..... SLK sumthin like that.

Would you believe that Nissan's quality reports outrank Toyota? I did believe it either but they do. Nissan's really steped up their game

And it ISN'T RWD????? Bah that's not cool. You can't do a cool burn out in FWD...... Reread your post. The car has gone back to being cool again lol

if nissan beats toyota I think they're the ones paying someone off.

like I said earlier of all he midsize cars we test drove it was the most expensive , loudest interior , loudest engine note and no not in a sexy kind of way , rode like garbage , and had a semi-cheap interior.

every car except the dodge avenger was better than the altima. and we're talking the new "improved" redesigned 2008 altima.

trust you can do amazing burnouts in fwd. in all fwd drag cars they can't get enough traction to save their life and are burning out more than half way down the quarter mile

Oh ive watched Import Drag racing...thats more or less what showed me the light from the muscle car...why make a 500hp BIG AS IN HEAVY BLOCK V8 when you can make a 500 HP boxer motor, and TORCH a muscle car

Well Nissian doesn't go around claiming they have the most reliable, bulletproof cars with legendary longevity. Makes more sense to me that Toyota would pay ALOT of money to protect that image.

I've driven a Nissian and I don't know what car you were test driving (maybe it was a Toyota and you were mistaken ) That thing rode smooth at hell the engine pulled with NO NOISE and it was also very smooth. Had a pretty wide power band. Didn't pay much attention to the interior though. But it was nice. Not to mention all this driving was done with the radio off

and also keep in mind the Altima is still nearly entry level for Nissan. You want the good ones...go to a Maxima, or obviously the Z, or if you want REALLY nice then go to the G35. Infinity/Nissan...same thing..

yeah , we drove just about every car in the midsize segment. ALL while not talking and with the radio off.

my parents and I just did this all day long saturday , and sunday

Hehe long lived sure. Cool? No

You really want to get down to it I've seen guys with V8 burn rubber the ENTIRE length of the drag strip. And more impressive than that. These same guys have figured out how to lock 8000 horsepower to the ground with no burn out at all. I think your little import drag racers just don't know what they're doing

the altima is in the same class as accord , camry , malibu , lucerne , g6 , fusion , aura

and the thing cost more than EVERY other base v6 model of each and every one of it's competitors.

it was THE loudest and lest composed on road.

You sure bout that??? That seems a lil silly. I would think the Maxima would be in there with Accord, with the Altima being the Civic,

The thing is a big block makes 500 horse EASY. **** small blocks can do it pretty easy too. BB's are capable of making 1000 without too much of a sweat. But alot of the times there's no reason for THAT much power.

And I gaurantee the amount of money it takes to make 500 horsepower in an import compared to how much money it takes to make 500 horsepower in a BB will make you cry

it's not about import or not . i was talking about fwd drag cars.

and some of them get no burn and all traction as well depending upon the class.

i'm saying on street tires a 400-600 hp fwd car will do a longer burnout than most 400-600 hp rwd cars . at least of the ones i've seen and driven in person.

but each car is different as well , the suspension components , width of tire , boost or no boost , higher hp or more torque.
