DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Don't pay any attention to the title lol. Good that thats the same size. How bad are we talking scratched? BTW are they chrome or what? And the scratched-ness of it are they fixable like if I take some coarse sand paper to it and then work my way to finer grit and then paint them would they look fine?

One you could work out the other...not so much...maybe with a grinder...its not round there anymore...:( Guess the crash bars came in handy at some point, cos theres not a scratch on that motor..

Sucks to hear... Fvck I really wanted those too. We'll work something out dude. If you want the gauges sooner than later let me know and I'll send them out. Know anyone that has some crash bars like those? Maybe score some off of them and then trade me straight up

Ill send em to ya anyways, and ill find ya some too...and if you want those others in the meantime i can do that too...

Cool-ness then. Yeah you don't need to worry about sending the one's that look like the one in the middle pic. I prolly wouldn't use them. But I think I'll slap on the defective ones for now. Besides painted flat black they probably won't even be noticeable....

Dude I'm one step closer to get the bike back rideable again. I just finished working on it a few minutes ago. Now its a roller. I painted everything individually like the swingarm, sprocket, front forks and brake assemblies and now they're back together. I must say painting the wheels black made the bike look 100x better. Plus the frame doesn't look all rusted out now.

Dood if you did sand them with a sanding disc the one thats messed up and then the other to match the angle..painted them black you would never notice...Ill still find ya a set too..I feel bad for getting you all excited...i should have looked at em better but i just happened to find them digging thru a box looking for parts someone asked about....My bad bro :(

Its all good bro. Besides its not like I'm buildint a concourse bike anyways. Hell just about everything is painted black on the bike anyways. Plus they'll look wicked black and contrasting the silver of the engine

Damn straight! All my case covers are going to be black, heads that pimpin Rustoleum Antique brass that i found (to replace my gold scheme, i think it makes it look more classy) and with the slightest touches of chrome here and there...like my shiney stainless bolts against the black of the case covers...i think that will look PIMP..

I can only imagine..... TILL YOU PUT UP PICS!!!!!! Buy another cord lol. Seriously though that Antique brass should look killer.

no timing light no problem.
to check your static timing remove your cover get a radio.idealy you want to put it on AM then find a spot without a signal.place the radio near your bike as close as possible.turn on you ignition, hand crank the nut untill you can see the firing marks align.the instant your plugs fire you will hear a pop from the radio, the pop should happen as the marks align.if not adjust a bit and hand crank again untill you hear a pop when the lines meet.easy and cheap\\:D/

yeah but you cant see the marks align while the motor is spinning can you...its spinning to fast...keep in mind im still points and condensor at the moment...

ohhh youre saying crank it by hand with out the motor started...the plugs will still fire, and the RF interference will show up in the AM radio...gotcha..but is that going to be accurate?

nope you are hand cranking via the 19 mm nut.the reason you turn your ignition on is to hear the pop from the radio

Thats a sweet tip man!! I'll for sure try that out tomorrow...you obviously read that post about my revelation...you think its accurate?? I still need to take a manometer to my carbs, but it seems to make sense why im bluing on one and four and not on 2 and 3 and with the current jet set up i should be lean...yet certain pulses smell rich...what do you think? 2/3 are retarded a bit in timing??

Dude Neil... That's genious
