Actually i went on a bit of a buying spree today..
Yesterday n1elkyfan stopped over and we (well, mostly he, since he's the electrical guy, i just tried to keep us organized..and on task..man get a couple of ADD wrenchers together and its fun times..lol) rewired my bike. Got gauges hooked up and even got the gear indicator wired back together..neat lil feature. Gotta get that left hand switch from Steve and im ready for signals. Today i bought that head, new OEM style grips (for the vintage look) new rear brake pads, and the other day i bought a centerstand. I have a fairing on its way from SaltyMonk, rearsets coming from Bubba, and those headlight buckets and projector lamps coming from HotBox. Its gonna be christmas all week as parts come in..woohoo! Also at some point Mike (mriddle) is swapping me my 8inch bucket and headlight for a GS1100 boxed alu swingarm so that will be on the list of conversions and upgrades. Gonna be a busy winter in the manhole looks like now..

Sorry bud the total work list comes to screwing with the carbs for a few minutes. I started yesterday and did about the most work I've done to them in.... well ever actually. I came this close ----------><----------- to finishing them last night BUT the spacing was off or something. The last carb just wasn't fiting right. It was about a quater inch off from fitting on the rack correctly so I left it there for the night and in the morning I came to realize that ther's some kinda wierd plastic spacer on the throttle assembly that is throwing off everthing so I tried cutting it out today and there's still something screwed up with it. Damn thing sucks too I was anxious about starting it up...

Oh and I finally got the money for the rear fender. Sold it on ebay. It took a few days to get the money from the guy but hell yeah its in
Weird plastic spacer?? What was it for?

I envy you lol..... Me and my bike want more parts. But my wallet says no lol. Hey make sure to let me know if you don't wants those older gauges anymore. I'll take em off your hands :-)

Ya got me on that one brother. It goes on the third carb. Its on the side that touches the fourth carb. Its on the throttle shaft.... I dremmeled it off and I still can't move over the little piece of steel that sits in between the spring and the seat on the throttle shaft of the fourth carb.... If you even know what I'm talking about. But yeah I still can't move over that little piece of metal so I left it alone for today and took care of other business with some friends

Well all in all i actually have only spent about 200 bucks on everything..alot was in trade, and the most expensive thing were the damn brake pads..lol 14.99 a piece...JAYSUS! Highway robbery that. I actually wired those older 750 gauges up..still not positive thats what im gonna keep tho, but i kinda dig that gear indicator. But eventually i think ill end up with some Honda (GASP!) single cup gauges or get some mini gauges..when/if i get rid of these, say the word and they are yours.

Damnit man! Why didn't you warn me about you having those on sale earlier before I bought these lol. Coulda saved me the damn migraines I got over these.... And yeah Those are the ones. What I think that plastic spacer is for is because I think the larger engines have a different carb spacing from my 550 but use the same size carb. So the spacer is there only to modify the spacing of the carbs.... Yeah and I'll probably pick up those new carbs. Nothing wrong about having an extra set

Well two reasons i never mentioned them...one for some reason i thought your bike was older..and recently realized i was braindead...and two..they WERE sold, but dood never came off with the cash, so here they sit. They are in great shape. i pulled the float bowls off to check em out, and they have no residue, and no sediment inside. They have a touch of road grime on the outside but just a touch. Toss me a reasonable price plus the ride and they are yours my friend.

Hmm well right now I'm low on the cash because of the upholestry job I gotta get done and plus the new caliper I need to buy but hold on to them for me and don't tell a soul about them :-D I'll buy them soon lol

dude!? you need a headlight bucket too? all i had extra was the light housings and the replaceable h4 bulbs in them

ahhhh my bad bro..i misunderstood. i thought the lights had a plastic bucket or something...so these just go into the original bucket??

Crap..well i have a bucket now...but i was bout to trade it away..lol..guess ill have to recheck that.. I can prolly find another on ebay..

Wait..i need to find a 7 inch bucket tho dont i?? Hrmmmm Got an idea where i could find a 7 incher??

Stock on my 77 is 8 i just measured the other day cos i didnt before i bought my fairing  and then started to wonder. You sure your bucket is 7 inch? I thought they were all 8 inchers that old.
