Actually the reason it look that way is because the crown of the teeth already wore away. Those claws are pretty much the very edge of what remains of the teeth

Sweet Chinese star you have there.

I remember having to do a small balsa wood bridge (12" long or something). I don't remember what glue we used. What I do remember is thinking that the glue is stronger than the wood (like most binding agents), so I made a lot of laminated beams and surreptitiously varnished all surfaces that weren't obvious with it. Some people would call that cheating, I called it creative problem solving. I won that contest also, and my conscience never bothered me.

It seems to me that $40 to have a seat redone is very reasonable.

Thats good...creative problem solving..i like it...lol Hey on the Epoxy question..are you planning to coat a bike part with it??

Sweet Chinese star you have there.

Yeah I was considering selling it to a ninja lol

We were gonna coat the entire bridge with glue, particularly Gorilla glue BUT I think we're having a weight problems already. Either way if it doesn't hold alot I think we'll still win becuase most of our class is pretty dumb

If it works, I plan on coating the tank, tail, frame and anything else that suits me.

It wont ever come off lol...its like steel man. Its neat to watch them do that. Allright kiddies Im off to the rack. Gotta work in the EARLY AM..damnit and its twothirty already. Beer, Riot...have a good night bro's I'll hit ya all up tomorrow. Peace and grease.

I like that attitude.

I don't remember when we started doing this, but quite a few years back me and a friend started to play around with melting drink straw ends together with lighters and making crap when we were bored at the bar.

One night I decided to build a tower that would hit the ceiling, my buddy started building a bizarre structure, as his his style. Once I hit the ceiling I decided to build a bridge between his and mine. The bar was somewhat dead, but there were a few people sitting at the other end. The were quite intrigued, as was the old man that came in to clean up the bar the next morning.

Sorry about hijacking your thread CafeKid.

Its the kinda attitude that wins these competitions lol. We also plan on turning in fake little bridges first just to **** with the teacher. He's from greece so its funny to hear him get worked up over that sort of thing.

And don't worry about hijacking the thread. This thread was meant becuase we would always jack other ones

So i got a bunch of stuff in the mail the last two days. Got my fairing, rearsets and the 7 inch projector headlights. Bummer is i dont think the Raask sets are going to work unless i find someone to weld some tabs on for me. They bolt right up to that 80 frame tho...dammit..lol. I also spent my afternoon fighting with this rear caliper. Seriously PI$Sed about it. I cant figure out why its grabbing. With the brake hose of it still grabs. Im begining to think the bracket is bent or twisted or it's missing a spacer or something. Seriously frustrated. Im about to rip the son of a b1tch off and go rear brakeless till i can figure it out. But unfortunately thats what is hooked up to the brake light. I need to find a switch for the front brake too. Setbacks, setbacks...FVCK! :?

Man that sucks pretty bad about the rear brake. But hey it could be worse. Right now I have no front brake so I'm gonna ride with only the back brake till I can get something off of ebay so atleast you got your front brake. About the rear brake its probably just warped or something. Hey its what calipers do eventually they just bite the dust. This is a good excuse to mount up a better lighter caliper.... What kinda fairing you got? Any pics of it?

BTW remember the competition we were having? Yeah that was a huge let down. One of my friend's dropped the bridge... Well he didn't drop it so much as the wind made that sumab!tch airborne. And yeah it hit the ground pretty hard shattering the base rails. Suprisingly enough the main suspension members that were gonna carry all the weight didn't break so I guess its testament to our design. Even though it was pretty much crippled we rebuilt it halfassedly and they still didn't fail. The base pretty much just shattered when we put weight on it

Yeah i know but this is the second caliper ive tried. There has to be something more to it. I just cant figure it out.

The fairing is just an EMGO faring..i'll throw some pics up of it here in a bit. Its not gonna be mounted untill i get a 7 inch housing for these lights, cos my stock is too big to fit in there.

That blows about your bridge dood. It looked like it was well thought out however and your teacher probably saw that.

Your rotor is probably warped man have you checked it out yet?

I dunno really how to check it other than visual inspection for straightness...it seems to be ok, and it never pulsed in the pedal, but its been an issue since i bought the bike.

I think you can take it down to a brake shop and have them check it for you. The should be able to tell you if its out of true. And as for the other components, you already cleaned out the MC right?

yeah did that and put a rebuild kit in it. i dont think its that, as it gets fluid no prob..im more inclined to think the hoses are bad. But it still rubs even when the hose is not connected...is your rear in contact all the time?

Yeah. All disk brakes are like that. The pads are meant to rest on the rotors. But they should only be touching slightly

You know it is quite possible that the second caliper was a crap part too. It also coulda been messed up. Especially since we're dealing with parts 25+ years old

came off a nearly recently running bike. I have new pads coming already, but i dont think that makes a bit of difference unless they heated up so bad they swelled, but i dont think they work that way. Makes me want to smash my head against a wall tho. never had this much problem with a brake system, car or bike. Guess i'll replace the hoses, maybe find a rotor and another MC...Damit...lol well at least im not too much in need of all that till spring.

Sucks to hear about your braking woes. But I got somewhat good news looks like my bike is gonna get fired up tomorrow and will probably be driveable in the next few days
