A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Ok broseph...im off to bed..getting up with the chickens tomorrow, as its supposed to be sunny and get near 40..WOOHOO! Got a motor to pull and a bike to get to the manhole. And i gotta pick that new motor up too. I'll get some snaps of those boots off that 16v 750 and see if they match up. If so, you're welcome to them. Crap..i gotta get that motor downstairs too...*sigh* my back is gonna be broke tomorrow..lmao Night man!

I will keep an eye out! Didnt even think about that. Lemme know what he says about those boots. I have a feeling you can get the moulded ones, and you'll be better off. But i could be very wrong too...lol PEACE and GREASE!

Well i picked up the motor this afternoon.

The good: Its in WAY better shape looks wise (thats as far as ive got with it) than mine. Missing the stator badge, but no big deal there.

The Bad: Some IDIOT with the shipping company aparently tagged it with a forklift or something, as the camend cover is creased and cracked, and the screw bosses in the valve cover for it are broken. I dont think it came from the seller that way, as the breaks look fresh, and the cam end was in the bottom of the plastic wrap. Lil miffed about that. Lucky i have extra cam end covers, and i;ll have to find another valve cover...damnit.

Nah nothing major at all. Dude i met Dardoonk tonight...he was coming thru on business, and PMed me last night to meet up for beers. He just rebuilt a 77 and its gorgeous (Saving grandpa GS) Had lots of tips and tricks to swap too...really really cool guy!

Whatchu gettin into this weekend?? Wanna hang out for a wrenching party? I'll buy lunch and what not! I have to work saturday night but have the day free...lemme know if you're interested. We need to get crackin on your ride man. You gotta have it ready for spring!

I was thinking about going to the flee market sometime but I can do that any day. The only problem with Saturday is that I got class till noon. I would love to do some more wrenching.

I have a guy at work that is going to give me an r/r so I can get my bike running sooner. I'm still going to build that r/r I got plans for but I need to find some time and this is a quick fix.

Well lemme know man!! if not Saturday, im off at 5 on sunday...with any luck at all i should have this thing down in the basement by then...but then luck was never my strong suit...lol. If ya need a place to post her up for the winter to wrench we could prolly get yours down to the basement too!! LOL

What time do you go to work on saturday. I might have to take you up on that offer but I was thinking about putting it on my back porch. I feel you on that luck department.

I think I have found any easy way to make the foam form for my gas tank. I working on photoshoping a design rite now when I get it done I will post it up.

I work at 5 i think on saturday..maybe four. Sweet i wanna see that tank!

If ya do want to post her up here we can make room for sure...i am gonna clean that bench off ( the big one down there covered in laundry at the moment) and that will be our engine dept...lol. I have two motors down there already (carried that 80 16v motor down there too...OUCH...lol)

heres my one of my ideas for my gas tank. i was thinking of puttubg ait scoops on the side

How about stretching it out? Or lowering it so it can atleast looked stretched. I like the air scoops though. BUt a nice long tank with scoops would look BADASS

The final tank will probally be a little shorter. This was to just get a ruff Idea and to see what you guys think about it. after christmas I will be able to get on to start shaping the real tank.

Dood i love Oddlots...lol I just snaked some handy dandy lil tools i didnt have, like some larger allen wrenches, and a screwdriver with a pivot head on it...and a whole bunch of toothbrushes, and simple green and engine degreaser....Let the cleaning begin!! lol

You know I never thought to go there for cleaning stuff but it looks like a trip is in order.

man that simple green works like a charm...Takes off OLD crusty grease and grime in short order. This motor's gonna shine like the top of the Chrysler building before im done. I just need to purchase a bench grinder next.

Hey Cole what you gettin into after work/school tomorrow?? If ya feel like hangin out and shootin the breeze gimmie a shout. I will be outside all day tomorrow wrenching, and then when it gets dark, i shall adjourn to the manhole for more wrenching fun!

Yea I can come over tomorrow I get off school at 5 so I could be over a little after that.

Cool man :) Should be good times. With any luck i'll have that motor out of the GS, or at least unbolted and the chain off and all the other goodies disconnected. Gonna take to the old motor with the engine cleaner, and see how she;ll look. Got lots of little stuff we can do, if you got any parts to play with bring em by, always fun to tinker.
