DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I don't know If I got any little things to mess with but If I can think of anything I'll bring it over. Hopefully you won't have to break your back caering that engine down to the man hole. I'm going to get off here I got to hit the sack.

Well if the motor has to sit outside for a day or two till i get my bro or someone over to give me a hand gettin it downstairs no biggie there, i have a skid to sit it on and i can cover it up...the big thing is i NEED to get the rest of the bike down there so i can start dismantling it, clean up and finish lil frame bits and stuff and send the rest off for paint. Have a good night man, i'll see ya tomorrow!

Riot i will have pics of those boots for you tomorrow to see if they'll work. If they do, you can have em all :)

Sweetness man post them up when you get the chance. Tomorrow there'll be no wrenching for me. Gonna go with a buddy for emotional support tomorrow while he gets inked lmao

And here's some pics of today's work. Cole came by after work and we lifted the motor out of my bike. I had most everything disconnected and unbolted by the time he got here, so that went quick. Got the frame and wheels and all down to the basement, so i can work on her all winter :) YAY!! Lifted both the new motor and the 16 valve motor up onto my work bench and we started pulling the new 8v motor apart to check things.

Right off the oil left in the motor smelled pretty bad of gas. And the piston heads and exhaust ports are pretty carboned up, as well as the plugs. Pretty sure he was running a bit rich. Looks like a valve adjustment will be in order for sure, as well as new orings for the intake boots, as they are toast. Not as bad as my old ones, but still bad enough to be changed.

Pulled the stator cover off, everything looks grand in there, but i'll be replacing some gaskets. No biggie there.

A pic of old tech vs new tech...i still like old tech better :) Cole is studiously examining the 16v set up...hehehe

Seeing the pic of the boots made me mad... WHY didn't the 550 come with a set up like that???? Lol. Nah bud they ain't gonna work. Mine have little reliefs cut into the base of the engine side for vacuumm ports. Thanks anyways dude I appreciate it.

Cool pics. I didn't know Cole was a GM wrench. That's pretty badass.... And ya shouldn't be smoking. Smoking kills man. BUT bah I ain't yo momma so I'll leave you be about it. Looks like you had a fun day today. I'd stay up and chat but I'm beat. Been working since 6 this morning and I got to go in again tomorrow at 6 so I'll talk to you gents later

Me mum was the one who got me started...hehe. Actually i've been smoking for...geez.. 20 years now..YIKES! But last check at the doc showed no signs of serious damage. Runs in the family. My grand dad smoked cigars, cigs, and a pipe from the time he was 13...he died at 85 with no lung problems whatsoever, and on top of that, he was a coal miner too. Not saying i shouldnt be smoking, i shouldnt...however, it is only one of two vices i have, and the only bad one. The other being motorcycles...hehehe. Have a good rest bro. Sorry those boots didnt work out.

Yea I've been working in a Cadillac bodyshop for almost four years now.

Hey TCK I left those batteries over at your house I'll have to get them Sunday.

Yeah ya did, and your impact driver too. And your exhaust system...anything else ya wanna leave over?? LOL

Hey TCK I checked that headlight and fairing and figured a picture is worth a thousands words

There was one problem in that the headlight wouldn't fit with the wiring in the bucket.

Sh~t! Well we'll have to figure out something for that...i dont want all my wires dangling in the breeze/
