A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Rearsets are some early to mid '90s GSXR. It's been awhile so I'm not sure of the years. No pics of the gauges right now.

New rear tire for the 83' 750

New rear tire for the 83' 750

I picked up a 2006 Katana rear wheel on e-bay (115.00 w/ shipping)- the rear axle fits perfectly. The tire is really close on the left side of the swingarm- at the least I will have to grind some of the slag from the welding. Also, the axle is all the way to the rear of the adjustment on the swingarm, so I am not sure how the chain adjustment is going to work out. I was wondering if anyone knows if the 85 GS700es or 86' & 87' GSX-R 750 swingarms are any longer than my 83'? These look like they are the only swingarms that will swap out relatively easily. I will post a couple of pictures of the tire in my "parts-testbed" frame for all to see. On a different note-Been working on the 83′ GS750ES. As mentioned previously, it was purchased on craigslist in California for $400.00. My brother-in-law picked it up in SanJose on his way from Bakersfield where he works, to his home in Sacramento. The neighbor lady went down to visit family in Sacramento and brought it back in her pickup truck. Saved me a BUNCH of time & gas! I was climbing the walls for two months while she was gone, but she finally got back mothers-day weekend. Got the bike running a couple of days later. Had to replace the front master cylinder but fortunately I had a spare on the "parts-test bed" bike I purchased a year earlier for $150.00. It came with everything, but the engine has a spun rod bearing. Anyway got the new master cylinder on, front & rear brakes bled and took it for a ?test flight? at 1806 hours, Monday, May 19th, 2009. Shifted through all the gears and the brakes worked fine, although could stand to be bled again. Engine definately needs tuning, but it was nice to hear the header! On the down side, I busted a header bolt off in the head. BUMMER! REALLY looking forward to putting on the new 07' Suzuki GSXR 600 front end off of Ebay. Heres a picture the previous owner shot- I imeadiated removed the "Umbrella" stickers! Left the radioactive sticker on top of the tank though, seems to fit w/ our image here at Area 51 Bikeworks. Thanks for your time- I apprecate the posts & encouragement.

700 swingarm is the same as the 750. I answered your question about using the '93 swingarm by PM.
