I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Well, you might be a mod what ya got guy

But, it's still the wrong bike to do it to, mostly because of the shaft drive issues

Also, its bulk means it needs all the suspension travel it can get. Dropping the front 2" will probably leave you about 2" of fork travel, which will bottom out on every bump a speed

I ask, you are going to be riding farther than the nearest tavern, right?

You got it right on the button bar hopper.

Hjfisk would love to trade but like you said your pretty far so im moddin what I got. After all that is the american (read hillbilly) way

Start with the stuff that won't affect your ride height too much. 4 into 1 header and pods, get rid of the pull back bars, aftermarket signals and new paint - maybe take the chrome cover off your rear shocks.
You can raise the fork tubes in the triple tree and put some clip-on's and rear-sets if you want to lean over more.
Plus - you can do these mods one at a time as the "extra money" comes along.

Well i havent updated in a while. I have sold my GK exhaust to pay for my V&H exhaust. Originally I was going to get a sidewinder style exhaust but after talking to a few people I decided against it. Plus having to mod the rear brake pedal didnt appeal to me. I purchased the street exhaust instead.

The street exhaust might change my plans to lower the bike since it passes under the bike and my area implements cliff like curbs at the end of driveways and well pretty much everywhere. I still would like to lower the bike in the front about an inch. How will that affect handling?

Still undecided about what bars to use. Clipons are basically out of the question i think. I figured superbike bars would help with the fork drop as i wont be as far forward like drag bars. My back would like that i know. Any ideas?

Carbs will have to be jetted im sure. Pods would probably help performance but how much? If i dont run the baffle in my pipe i figure i will HAVE to have them but im probably wrong.

No new pictures yet but here is someone elses bike that gets my noodle going and is basically the look im going for. I know its not my model but the boxyness of the bike in my eyes leads me to believe i can acheive a similar look.

This bike is what inspired me. I know its an E but whatever

Heres my latest update. My exhaust came in the mail today. Ended up with the sidewinder. Sometimes you just gotta go with your gut. Got it most of the way on till my knee started acting up so heres pics.

It looks better on our bike than it did sitting in the back room of my house collecting dust.. It will last many years. Did you order the baffle with the part number i gave you? Should have took a picture of the 40.00 taped to the megaphone. I figured you would see it there for sure!!! And to this day i still havent found that baffle!!

Im gonna stop by klemme's first to see if hes got one hanging around since he builds dxragbikes and probably doesnt have much use for the ones he does have. If thats a bust im gonna order one up. They sound pretty bytchin without the baffle but i know its gonna get old really fast.

I think this is a great way to go. Also, you can pull the cover off the seat and reshape the foam with an electric knife then get it recovered.
If you are dead set on lowering it, raise the forks in the tubes 1" and get some 1" lower shocks. Progessive makes a 12" length. You want to lower them the same amount to keep the geometry the same. But I wouldn't go more than 1" with a shafty because of the reasons already mentioned... (an inch is a lot)

Thats pretty much the direction im going. Definately going to do something about the seat. I was just thinking about finding a G seat to go on it.

without baffles your ears will suffer in the end..get the baffles and save the hearing.

I'm goin the same route on my 650 (lowering that is). Lookin better.
Are you keepin the windshield?

It looks good with these giant monkey bars but im going with lower bars and then ill probably go with a viper ot meier fairing.

If the windshield is in good shape and no cracks, I'd like to buy it.

Small update. Picked up a set of chrome bikemaster superbike bars from my local stealership for $22.00 and got them mounted up. Much better than the stock GK bars that were on there. Took a little fanagling to get all the cables and wires routed but it came out good. Clutch is a little tight but i will just adjust that out. Noticed that my tire was a little low so ive got a slow leak. I guess tires is next. I was thinking Avon venoms. Any suggestions? Heres a picture i took before the storm set in hard. Ill get better ones once the weather gets better.
