A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Strap

I have taken all of mine off.
They just tend to be exactly where I tend to sit.

Hard to picture it with all of the other bodywork.
I say wait, ride it a bit, then decide.

Very nice looking saddle. I think I would go without the strap.

For some reason straps always seem to get ripped eventually. I just posted some pics of my new redone seat on the General discussion thread, do you like your corbin. Take a look.

For now, I'd just keep the strap off and stowaway the strap somewhere safe should you decide to add it later.

No strap. It's not bad looking but kinda pointless (IMO). If I were a passenger I wouldn't trust that strap to hold me if you accelerated hard.

As far as breaking up the long seat look I might have added a seam (with the nice stitching) or some piping to break the seat up. But I doubt you're going to do that now after it's already done (and looks great BTW).

I think tkent02 has the right idea though, wait until the bike is all done and together and then decide. It'll be a lot easier to add it later than remove it.

Wow,,,,,,,,a 50/50 split at one point, and I was wondering why I was having a hard time deciding...

but as many have said, I will leave it off for now, wait for the bike to be completed, and then see how it will look....

Thanks guys

comments and votes can still be done, it will still help, if not me could be good for others....

Is that what it's for? I thought it was to hold my gloves when i stepped away from the bike.

haha I always use it as a place to hook bungee cords to when hauling stuff...

I say yes, because it will visually break up what is otherwise a very large expanse of fabric. Like in Maro's sig above me, the red accent on the seat really breaks up what would otherwise be a large, undefined black area.

Haha... voting is at a dead heat... I'd say... leave it alone until the whole bike is done... then make a decision based on practicality... will you miss it? will it hurt your bum? Can you not get it on the center stand without it?

That's what's important. I think it looks good both ways... but I voted for no, because that strap is a 70's look. Your bike doesn't have that going for it.

It's funny I have watched the voting and it's almost a 50/50 split all the time....:)

Getting it on the center stand is not an issue at all, I don't have one...:D

now will it hurt my bum .....that is a good question, I don't know until I ride, but in actuality it shouldn't it's far enough back I believe.

I am leaving it off for now, as suggested, until the bike is complete, I will then see how it looks, and take a few more pictures, and take it from there.

Its going to be far enough back that you won't sit on it.

You might actually find it handy if you plan on using saddle bags. With my fabric ones, I attach one of the cross straps too it with a velcro strap. It stops the bags from moving forward or sliding side to side.

Something else to consider.

Cheers,
spyug

Saddle bags......:D,,,this ain't no pony, folks....

and we might all be beat on this anyways......

the significant other (The BOSS) well I let her believe so,,,,has told me she likes it without the strap on the seat.....now I am in a pickle....for sure...

might not even be my choice......:)
