    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Learned a few things on todays ride.
1. The front brake starts to drag a bit after I've been ridin for a while.
2. My buddy that lives out in the county was not home today.
3. His driveway is very slick.
4. Slick surfaces and dragging front brakes are a poor combination.
5. Somehow my body knows what to do in the event of a low side.
6. I can in fact get my bike back upright if I have no help.
7. #6 takes about ten minutes and is veeeery tough. (me-115, bike-600lb)
8. My new cool color changing paint is in no way gasoline proof.
9. I really like engine saver bars.
10. I enjoy riding enough that I still took the longest way home I could think of.
11. My busted ribs are pretty sore.

The end.

Well atleast you learned something. Sorry about the downer and the paint

Downer is no big deal. I figured it would happen someday. I actually think it's pretty funny that it happened on day two.
Paints a bummer though.

Glad your safe. Paint jobs can always be redone. Scary learning experience though. Been there done that.

Ever Notice that those Drops almost Always Happen at Low Speed!

I'll bet if I were moving faster it either wouldn't have happened or it would have hurt a whole bunch. hehe

Edit:
Looking at the bike, I see the case saver got bent up a fair amount. Hopefully I'll be able to straighten it.

I'm a skinny feller.

I'd say.....that's a whole 100 pounds less than me at 6' 3".

By the way, I got a kick out of your post. Is it okay to be entertained at your expense? 8-[

Sorry to hear of the drop, though.....just glad you weren't seriously hurt.

Craiger, roughly 90% of my posts are intended to entertain, or at least that is my plan. Feel free to laugh at my expense any time you like, just please let me know when you do so I'll at least have that satisfaction.
If I pile up bad enough at some point to put me in a body cast, it'll probably take hours to post the story in a funny way and it will aid in my recovery knowing I was able to cause a mild giggle among my fellow GS'ers.

Yeah, that was a funny post. Sorry you layed 'er down.

I'm almost twice your weight at 6'1". :-s
You need a sammich.:)

Let's not get carried away, now. :-$
