Too late for fall colors, but took pics anyway. GK. Michigan.

Went on my fall photo tour this afternoon. Too late for "fall colors" but I did it anyway.

Was thinking of the Texas Hill Country ride today, so I put on my FM335-336-337 t-shirt today, but thermometer still said 38 degrees when I rode out to church this morning. Afterwards took a ride about 50 miles into Grand Rapids along the Grand River on Leonard road. Had a breakfast at a diner (yum, fried american fries with onions, yum) and then rode back on same road and a few other places to take some pictures. No big adventure, just a quite afternoon ride. Was in mid 40s by mid afternoon.

For better picture I would need to either move the river to other side of road, or move sun to be above the artic circle, but as an alternitive I'll just use the post editing fill-flash.

Quite afternoon, along side a creek, distribued by obnoxious loud aftermarket pipes on 2 v-twins (can see near curve). Man if I lived on this road I could understand people wanting to ban bikes.

These green barns have always grabbed my interest. Stopped for a photo and Mr. Horse came out to show his interest too.

There's something exhilerating about riding in cooler temps! I'll keep riding through the winter as long as the weather permits. Though I did get "caught" a time or two last year riding home with a small blanket of snow on the road. Pucker times 10!:lol:

Went again today

Went again today

Went again today.
Had the idea to do the following:
- Get down to beach while sun still in an easterly direction.
- ride along Grand River.
- look for a few places to stop and take picture of bike with scenic background.
- stop at same restraunt as last time. Last time I was there I was suprized that I had barley enough cash to cover bill, and didnt have much for a tip. SO wanted to make up for that.

Well, that was the idea anyway, here is more like what actaully happened:
- Was still 38 degress and was getting close to 10am, so didnt want to wait any longer, so took off down to the beach.
- camera batterys died after 1st picture.
- drop glasses off bike seat and broke the frames.
- decide how to proceed from here without glasses.
- Hunt for store to find replacement batterys and crazyglue.
- decide how to proceed from here. Ride into Grand Rapids with my glasses in three parts in my pocket.
- make it to restraunt. Find waitress, give waitress an explanation and a tip before sitting down.
- order a breakfast and then proceed to glue the frame parts to the lens.
- have breakfast. Then have to unstick my glasses from the menu. DOAH.
- ride back home. THis time can see better to find a couple places to stop for pictures.

My wife and I drove thru the eastern U.P. to Mackinaw City the first weekend of Oct. to see the fall colors. Was just beautiful, timed it well I think. Plus it gave us an oppertunity to visit one of our favorite places. For the life of me I can't think of the name of the place... It's a resturant there that makes the best pizza we've ever had, nothing around here comes close.

Have just just looked at this post today. Nice pictures and your bike looks great!!!. I have to say though I am well impressed by the steam train in the background, stunning, looks like you live in a nice place thanks for posting the pics.:-D
