    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey guys, I don't mean to beat a dead horse because I know there are a lot of TEO threads out there...but...I was in the market for a new TEO and since Greg B's project seemed to come to a standstill I found one on Ebay made by a guy in Canada that brands it as KBR Racing. I ordered it and it looks great!! Really nice design and craftsmanship but very different than what I was running before. My original TEO was designed to force ALL the oil through the TEO and into the exhaust rocker shaft. From there the oil back-flowed down the cylinder block and into the oil gallery to lube the crank and tranny. I've only ever seen this on some old school drag bike photos. Below are some images and info from this project (Sorry, I have to do this in multiple posts because there are a few images)

Here's a pic of what I had been running since I bought the bike about 8 years ago. It was installed by the previous owner
 
Here's a look at the underside of the oiler block. This block extends down to seal against the oil passage forcing all the oil into the braided lines running to the exhaust rocker shafts.

Note: crappy gasket sealer mess was done by PO.

Here's an underside view of the new oiler block. It accepts both the pressure and temperature sensors.
 
How is the transmission and intake rockers going to get oil flow? Something doesn't seem right.

I'm pretty sure the oil backflows down the cylinder block on the exhaust side and back up the cylinder block on the intake side in order to feed oil to the intake rocker shaft. The oil also backflows through the oiler block housing to feed the transmission. I don't know how else it could work...Doesn't seem like a very good design and that's why I went with the new one. But I'm still not sure why some guys used to run their drag bikes this way?...
 
Also, if anyone has a temperature sensor laying around, I'm in the market for one. My gauge works so I'd like it to be functional and am willing to pay a fair price for a used sensor. Though I am trying to avoid dropping the $100 that Suzuki wants for a new one :confused:

Davel, that first one you have pictured is the original Vance & Hines oiler. They only oiled the exhaust cam then because of heat & used the oil to cool the springs along with oiling the cam & rockers. Ray.
 
I got the same one in black for the '83. He makes about 5 or so at a time. I went through several eBay iterations before I got mine. He's on the West coast - isn't he?

Thanks Ray, I thought you might have some input on this. I can see where the V&H Oiler directs the maximum amount to fresh oil to the hottest part of the engine (exhaust cams, rockers & springs) but it seems like other areas like intake cams, crank and tranny might get compromised.
 
I suspect that Vance and Hines setup would most likely be fine for drag racing, but I wouldn't use it on a street bike.

For your new setup, did you block off the original oil port into the cylinder? Not sure if this is necessary or not. Just asking the question.

I did consider blocking it but ended up leaving it alone. So the way it is now, oil enters the rocker shafts from the cylinder and TEO.
