    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have purchased an 850 top end (head, cams, cylinders, pistons) & adapted it to fit on my 750 cylinders. I am told this was a fairly common swap years ago. I had to grind some meat off the cylinders where they slide into the crankcase but it wasn't difficult. I also did this so I could use the cv carbs & here in lies the question. I am looking for newer style carbs & have heard that some gsxr carbs from the mid 80's work. Or how about 600 or 1200 Bandit? Can anyone tell me what exactly I should be looking for?

I also need a source for the 850 intake rubbers as well.

There also seems to be only a few people who remember this swap, so if you're one of them & can give me advise, feel free to pm me.

The 850 up through the 1100 2 valve engines used 34's ... 8)
 
True, but isn't there an advantage to using newer carbs say 1200 Bandit?
 
Early GSXR flatslides is what you are after, 36mm as I recall

850 form 1980 on have 32mm CV carbs. Carb choice depends on how you intend to use the bike. Over-carbing your engine will result in poor low to mid rpm power & lousy fuel mileage. Cam timing is another important factor.

Well the motor will be mildly ported & will have a 4-1 as well as updated ignition so I thought 34's or 36's
 
Would modern Bandit carbs work? What size are they on the 600 or 1200 motors?

I have several sets of GSXR 36's but I think it's too much for what you have......
 
I found out the 600 Bandit uses 32 mm. I think they're my best starting point. Anyone try them?

The 86-87 gsxr 1100 34mm carbs would work better than the bandit 32mm carbs. They are more responsive than stock carbs and work great with individual filters. I may have an extra set in the near future (87 gsxr 34mm).
