A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi All Who read this.
I have a 1979 GS1000L. I have narrowed the problem with the turn signals down to the turn signal control unit. I do not have an automatic cancel unit. I noticed that on the wiring diagram I have for the GS1000 for the TSCU that there is one connector and a loose wire. On my unit there are two connectors and no loose wires. I was hoping to just get a replacement but cannot find one. Could someone help me find a replacement or let me know if there is a suitable aftermarket fix for this? Thanks. cj ....HOLY Shiezah. I found the part number 38830-49001 and looked up the cost for replacement. Like $362. I found a diagram on this site http://---.motogrid.com/pages/OemPa.../WIRING_HARNESS_(GS1000EC/02300005/5602300031. It lists this as auto cancel. I didn't think mine was auto cancel though since my switch has an off position.

You can bypass the TSCU and turn the system full manual. Instructions in the archives.

I was hoping to send you a link to an E-bay auction for one, it was listed as an ignitor for a '79 850. It says it just sold, the price $125.
Those things are now scarce, and I've been through over a dozen of them just looking for one good one, still am.

I still need to send you the one off my bike...

Don't you need that for "Penelope?" or did you just want me to check it out for serviceability for you? I've gotten to the point where I hardly use the turn signals on either of my bikes that much, except at times when I do feel it's neccessary. It's just nice to have a bike with working turn signals. We don't any state bike inspections to go through in Florida, why you don't even have to have insurance on a bike.

Steve, nope, it's yours... I'll make up something for the skunk if need be.
