A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Turn signal staying on

My left turn signal would stick on when I first got the bike, after messing with the switch and spraying some contact cleaner in the switch I thought I fixed it. Then today it randomly stayed on and I could not get it to shut off. It doesn't blink, just stays on as a solid light. Even when I remove the turn signal relay. What could be the problem?

What bike do you have? Some have a Self canceling turn signal setup.

One light staying lit on my bike means that a bulb is blown.

It's an 80' GS1000G. I know that it generally means a bulb is blown, but even when the switch was turned off the signal stayed on. I just tried to take apart the switch and it came apart in a million tiny pieces. And now I don't know what the f*** I'm gonna do.

Do not despair.
Did the switch crumble or what?
Its supper time ina lot of places there will be an expert in electrics or that model along shortly.

I think I may have dropped and lost 1 or 2 very small balls that almost looked like ball bearings. The light is still staying on even after the switch is disassembled. I don't know if anyone could help me put it back together just through the forum, but maybe someone could at least help me with the wire colors so I can put on a universal switch...as much as I don't want to :(

Yeah them wee balls are a pita to find once the springs push en out.

Wow. Found the problem to be some chewed up wires, all I had to do was wiggle them and the signal shut off. So basically I destroyed the signal switch for no reason and have no idea where to get one.

Have you tried Ebay? Put an ad in the wanted parts section here.

And please help us help you by putting your bike information in your signature
