    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Uh oh, there goes the head gasket

I guess the oil is suppose to stay on the inside of the motor, lol. The gasket was already seeping when I bought the bike but last night it gave up. Where can I get an oem head gasket on line? Our local dealer went out of business 2 weeks ago.

All day and no one else replied? Anywho, as apparently none of the regular posters seem to know, MLS is for multi layered steel. ;)
 
Not sure if you mentioned but how much boost are you running. And all the pros will say it should be studded top and bottom.
 
I just have stock 850 engine and my head gasket needs to be replaced..... I am guessing I don't have to have a head gasket made??
 
I use Bike Bandit for OEM parts.

Of course different combinations of pump gas, timing, boost and fuel pressure, it won't matter what you have for gaskets, studs or O rings. You can squeeze out a copper gasket like it was putty and turn your pistons into ashtrays.
 
I use an O-ring with stainless wire.

This was the last head I had FBG do for me. Get the seat pressure right. Where the copper wire will deform, the stainless will not. The O ring will push the gasket into the head's receiver groves.

Bike Bandit is okay but they're generally more expensive. If you can wait a little bit I always recommend Parts Outlaw (formerly Boulevard Suzuki), they have the best prices for OEM parts. Shipping isn't super fast though at least for our old GS stuff, they order the parts from Japan and then ship to you.

I suspect most do, but from time to time you need to give the irregular ones something to do.
