A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Does it come with a clamp for header to Megaphone connection or is one not needed?

Been checking through my Yosemite shots but I don't have anything close enough to be 100% sure.

If it does need a clamp & doesn't come with one what are my options?

Thanks,

Dan :)

Doesn't come with a clamp and doesn't need one. Just get it aligned up and fitting tight to the header then figure out a bracket that will mount to the rear foot peg bolt and you're done. Sometimes easier said than done, especially that bracket part but it's not too bad. I used a piece of flat steel I bought from your local HW store and then bent it to the shape I needed it with a 3lb sledge and an anvil. Drilled the holes to the size I needed, rounded the ends and painted it black. "ouila", bracket made.

Good luck.

New out of the box, they don't come with a clamp and you don't need one. The mounting bracket is welded to the muffler at the factory. The only other part that comes with it is a stop for the centerstand.

Thanks fellers.:-D I got lucky when I found this one.
Within the next few weeks, she'll be sportin a set of K & N pods, a fresh rack of carbs that were completely gone over, cleaned, re o-ringed, and rejetted by none other than our own chef1366(Bill). I also have a new set of intake boots to put on when I stick the carbs back on.
I still have to do a valve adjustment and get a carb tune tool and some other misc stuff that I'm going to replace before the season starts.
She should be good to go by no later than mid April.

Ok thanks. I didn't get anything for the centrestand... what does that look like?

I'll be having a go at fitting soon I think, they forgot the gaskets, once they get here I'll give it a go.

It's just a piece of bent metal with a bolt hole in one end and a half round cut into the other end that the leg of the centerstand fits into and that keeps the centerstand from going up the whole way and hitting the muffler. It would be easy to make one. I'm going to shorten mine up a hair so that it lets the centerstand comes up a little bit farther without touching the muffler.

Ah, I can handle that if necessary. Maybe I don't need it on my bike. Thanks for the heads up.

Dan :)
