V&H SIDE WINDER pipes came in today, BUT

I picked up a set of side winder pipes from V&H , I'm not happy with the chome or rust . They are new I think at least thats what I payed for.
this is my first set from them so maybe this is the way they are???
1st there is rust in the collector (were the the tubes meet) I can see that there are rust bubbles under the chrome were the tip mate to the header
the bag that it came in even has traces of rust in it
now it maybe just surface rust but I didn't pay for new rusty parts
2nd the chrome is ok at the point were it meet the block but at the collector it looks yellow on the back sides of the tubes and you can see sanding marks on the back side of the tubes also , looks like a crappy chome job.
Is this the way they all come or did I get a crappy set??
I would hate to ship back only to get the same crappy looking set
I'm hope that SCHNITZ didn't charge me for a new set and send me
2nd returned rejects , I fond that some mail order and online places will do that

Hi Robert, I don't have any expierence with V&H, but it sound like a vendor problem. Possibly stored incorredtly, I'd call them and describe what you are seeing. If they are a good supplier they'll replace it. I have a Jardine that I purchased through MAW. When it arrived it was well packaged and in perfect shape, V&H ought to be just as nice. Ray

I've bought several pipes from them and never saw any rust.
Obviously not the norm. Hard to believe they would even keep it in stock with the new, but they obviously did. As long as they didn't tell you before the purchase this is "B" stock or something, they have to replace it and pay all shipping costs.

I called SCHNITZ Sat. and told them my store and the women told me that she has had this happen in the past and that if I call Monday
I could talk to someone who can help me take care of this prob.

well SCHNITZ racing after seeing the pics of the rust and crappy chrome jop on my 4 into1 pro side pipes told me that can't help !!!!!
no refund, but I could and plea my case to V&H AND MY BE IF THEY FELT
SORRY FOR ME THAT WOULD MAYBE EXCHANGE THEM WITH A REAL NEW SET
Now thats sad when this is what you have to do to get help with one of their
sidewinder kits:shock: :shock:

If you bought it with a real credit card and not a debit card,Dipute the charge with your card company.Then call Shintz and tell them you "Aint payin' and your keeping the pipe" Thier tune will most likely change.

as long as it is a debit card issued through VISA or Matercard it works the same as a credit card. I just got refunded today from a charge back initiated just 3 days ago.

I got one in similar condition,It wasnt rusted but the chrome plating wasnt on the back of the 4 front pipes.I contacted V&H,they said it is a competition pipe and it comes that way.very poor quality to me.

I've bought several things from them before, but after your story that will be the last and I will tell every other potential customer I know about yer situation. It is NOT normal for pipes to be rusted. I have bought exhaust systems that have sat around before and they weren't rusty!

I would send a letter from your "attorney" and see what happens.
Let them know you'll start a blog!!!
