DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hay guys,
I have a '82 GS1100EZ with Mikuni aftermarkets on it. I think they are 33mm smoothbores but I don't know where to look and don't know what to look for.
I also have a set of carbs I was going to put on the GS1000 many moons ago that I was told were 29mm smooths but the carb tops on both sets are the same and match the pics I can find for the 33's.
Both have a little flat spot in the casting on the intake manifold sides that has "33A" and under it is "14" stamped in.
The only difference between the 2 sets , other than one being way cleaner than the other, is one has chrome slides and the other has dull plastic.
Anybody out there know what I have?

Have they 17mm nuts on the bowls to drain the fuel? Thats a good start....

The ones in the pictures are MUCH prettier than mine but other than that, they are the same. Thanks for the help. Now, what to do with the extra set??????

If Ray passes on them, let me know, I might be interested. Can you post some pics of them please?

Who is the guy down in Texas that does the spiffy rebuild/refurbish job on carbs? Mine needs to be rebuilt andI might send both.

Dunno. Is he a member here? I thought I did a pretty spiffy job on my VM29SS carbs :D I'll let you know how spiffy when I fire it up.

Save yourself a nightmare and forget about Texas. It cost me $440.00, and I ended up having to re-jet and rebuild them myself anyway.

Rick, I've been a Suzuki mechanic for over 30 years & have an ultrasonic cleaner for doing carbs. Let me know if you are interested. This is the BEST way I have found to clean them in all the years I've been rebuilding carbs. Ray.

$440 :eek: that seems really high, but I guess labor rates are high. I'm used to doing everything myself. On the other hand, I asked our local MC shop and bike drag racer (LOVES KZs  ) to rebuild the carbs and he quoted me 550 to start with and tuning cost 95/hr!!!! Another young local kid who just graduated from UTI and got himself setup with a dyno said he'd rebuild and dyno tune for $350....... That seems like a better deal. I'd rather send my stuff to a reputable GSR member for the rebuild though. Ya know, keep it in the family. :D

Rapid, send me an email (rickg5106 @yahoo.com) and give me some contact info. You might just be my guy to do these. My main deal was the soda blast as one set has been 'weathered' if you know what I mean.
Hey, just the guy I need to ask a question of. I bought a set of Mikuni RS34's on Ebay today and paid $385 for them used. Did I skin myself? The ad says they are for KZ900 or KZ/GS1000. Do the GS1100 have the same intake spacing? If not, can the spacing be changed? Is there a kit to be bought? Can I get my money back out of them from some 1000 guy?
