All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Weak spark

Google uses a popularity algorithm, you seldom get an accurate answer anymore unless you use proper search techniques. Suzuki used an ignighter for these bikes, it might come in a box that looks like a CDI box but it is not the same. The O/W wire from the signal generator that interrupts power to your coil to create the spark, goes to the G/W wire into the ignightor and comes out of the ignightor on the white wire to your coil. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Q...VBaDVLelNETE5B

The diagram I looked up shows your signal generator where the points are on earlier models and a mechanical advance mechanism. Your choice would be the Dyna-S, It is about $160.00 at Z1 Enterprises and everything would fit where your signal generator is and works with your mechanical advance. You could buy that and the Dyna green coils and new plug wires a lot cheaper than a new ignightor or a signal generator, or use it with your present coils. Bike Bandit lists your ignightor for $595.00 and the signal generator for $328.95. Their prices are usually a little high but replacing either part is still going to be a lot higher than the Dyna-S.

Yes. It doesn't look burned, correded, or damaged in any way. I don't know how to test it, though.

What position is it in? If it is lined up with a trigger, it could explain why you are not getting a light on that wire. That would be like an opened point.

Could you specify what a trigger is, and what position it has to be in? The service manual I have only mentions points and condensors, it doesn't say anything about adjusting a signal generator.

How do I test the timing on the signal generator. I watched a video of a guy do it with Dyna coils and a wire. I have a wire, but only bog-standard coils. Where would I affix the wire on the coils?

Does power flow through the orange/white wire, into the coil, and out through the white wire to the igniter box?

EDIT: Never mind, the left coil is good.
