A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

okay ive tried almost all i can to figure this out my bike will idle and run great then intermittantly if i pull in the clutch the revs are doggy and it will idle very low and die with out revs.

What ive done:
Actually cleaned the carbs
repplaced spark plug caps
Performed the coil relay mod
Cleaned grounds and connections
Was running lean on the pilot screws, now am running on the rich side and still does it.
Rebuilt petcock
Has stock exhaust and filter
Stock jets

thats all i can think of now

Shoot some ideas

Also i have not checked valves but it literaly runs amazing and starts great cold and hot so i dont think they are the culprit

If it does it when you pull in the clutch, does it do it only then & whether it is in gear or not? Pulling in the clutch & it occurring leads me to have you look at the wiring to the clutch safety switch. To eliminate this as a possibility, find where the wires come out of the bottom of you clutch perch & follow them to where they go into the headlight. Pull the headlight & where those wires are plugged in, disconnect them, & plug the wires coming from the HARNESS, that they were plugged into, into EACH OTHER. There will be a male & female plug on both sets of wires when disconnected & you can plug both sets back into themselves. Just keep in mind now that your starter will engage now without pulling in the clutch lever. If it STILL has the problem we will check other stuff next but this is where we start right now to eliminate 1 variable. Ray.

it will do it in neutral too. its like im dropping a cylinder. I need to get my dads temp gun to check this but whats weird is that its got paired cyl's for spark and i also have Siamese(twin) carbs so you would think if it was fuel or spark it would be bad being both fuel and spark are pared to cyls

Can't compare the pairs of coils and carbs.

The coils pair 1&4 and 2&3.

The carbs pair 1&2 and 3&4.

.

im sorry thats what i was saying... due to the non severity of the issue i wouldnt think it would be spark or fuel it just feels like one cyl dropping also the engine gets louder (the sound of valves sorta ((tick)) ) but i think that is because of the down cyl and the rotation being off on it...
